Today I'm going to receive a booking agent's roster of acts to see if I want to book anything for my Silent Nights.
I've never booked anyone with a booking agent before. I think this is partly due to my assumptions in so far as that I sort of like the DIY ethic and assume anyone with a booking agent will be difficult to book, a little diva-ish, maybe a little corporate, not really get the feel/style of what we're trying to do, possibly expensive and possibly chasing bigger gigs and not be interested in playing for us anyway.
Am I being irrational and prejudiced or is this a fair assessment? Does anyone have a booking agent and how do they find it/feel it affects the gigs they do?
