sees the band going towards a more approachable direction, the weirdness is still there but now you have hook, melody and even songs you can dance to! Its really good but not their best
i got the smokin' frogs 7inch, and its a most inpenetrable mess
lovely track though
i've only heard two songs from it. one was really good, the other was a bit crap. but they're probably my favouritest band in the world so i'm confident that it's going to be a brilliant album.
we're going to go and see then in le havre in december and then there'll only be about three bands left on my 'bands i desperately need to see' list. yay.
I only have Tom Waits on mine at the minute, although I reeallyy want to see Bjork again.
times new viking
this list doesn't include bands/artists who are on hiatus or ones that have split up. also, i really really want to see lightning bolt again.
i've probably forgotten someone really obvious.
Not sure it's an album of the year contender like Drum's Not Dead was though. As Mr Duck said up there it's quite accessible and almost poppy in some places. Not track 3 though, which is like listening to a headache.
there's something almost industrial about it, not in a Nine Inch Nails sort of way -it just sounds like it was recorded in a massive factory hall with this really percussive clangy-ness that sounds like hammers and machinery.
