is she well known in the UK?
ahh apperantly...:) interesting...
to get you a load of money from the tabloids if you have a story to sell, I should stress.
so I wouldn't know.
I only remember her from the late night slots.
but yes by music fans.
her rock show was the nadir of british radio; the worse thing about it probably being her retelling her story about flyering for guns n roses in every single show.
every time she went onstage at leeds festival for a couple of years running
worse than the guys they've got now.
The Breezeblock was/is (it's not called Breezeblock anymore i don't think) one of the few reasons BBC Radio 1 still deserve a modicum of respect in my mind.
i used to love the breezeblock when it was on early enough to listen to live.
in Liverpool on the 1st of December and she is dedicating one of her shows to it!
so come to Liverpool! yay!
which is occasionally 'decent'. Although it's on at some god forsaken time in the morning.
Her voice is still really sexy.
You're forgetting good old Gilles Peterson.
Bobby Friction and Nihal maintain both those criteria. And Rob Da Bank plays some good stuff, as does Huw Stephens.
Mary Ann Hobbs's enthusiasm for new music is absolutely undeniable. I think she was far more comfortable with the Breezeblock than the Rock Show but there you are.
