I'm not all that impressed really...
It's not bad, but I don't think it's as good as the other two.
i look forward to a night in listening to it
and thought it was "okay". Now I listen to it and think it's fucking ACE. The only one I don't like is "old friend of the christies". Savant is beautiful, like the new "Women Who Love Men Who Love Drugs", or "Music For A Nurse". Trail of Life is amazing too. Bear in mind too that the "finished" version hasn't leaked yet, and all the promos of this are unmastered.
if you look hard enough and have the right people on your friends list.
Soulseek sucks. Everyone is so snotty.
about a week ago so it should be around somewhere...
and it's fucking amazing!
gets better every time I listen to it, seem like so much more of an album than Everyone into Position. utterly brillant
than everyone into position.
I've listened to nothing else for a few days and it's growing on me, Savant is amazing, but that friend of the Christies track is awful. It's nothing but a lacklustre 10 minute post rock song. I look forward to hearing the mastered version, cos it does sound a tad flat right now.
It seems odd that they're starting the tour on the day the album is released. That doesn't really give people a chance to familiarise themselves with the new material before hearing it live....
I don't consider myself the biggest Oceansize fan, but this unquestionably pwns Everyone Into Position. Can't wait to see them live with Hopesfall.
seeing as they've lost all their members apart from the vocalist ONCE AGAIN. I mean, what's the point?
Very good stuff indeed.
But the line-up shake up has happened since its release.
I didn't realise.
Still, this seems like quite a regular occurance for the band - fingers crossed they don't split up before the tour.
fucking great. A real grower...took me a few listens to get my head round it.
... are a strange one for me. i'd still say satellite years is their best along with no wings to speak of but magnetic north, while not sounding like those records, is a bloody good listen. A types was a bit wet though. but now that the only original member (the guitarist..), aswell as the rest of the band has left I don't really see much future in them. shame.
have stuck another new track up on their myspace - Trail Of Fire
On first listen i'm enjoying it without being blown away, i'll reserve judgement till the album comes out.
sounds like a grower to me. Mind you, I said that about Unintentional and now I think it's the best thing since sliced bread.
I always say Unforgiven. What is it about that title.
especially when it kicks in.
So guys,is it better or worse than 'Effloresce'? Which i think is better than EIP.
I shall be getting hold of 'Frames' anyway.
of people who think EIP is way better than both of the others.
But it's okay, cos I'm right.
but they are all great records.
like Music for a Nurse and Ornament/Last wrongs but there are a few 'meh' tracks too like Heaven and New Pin.
Does anyone know when this is out? I doubt i can download it but want to hear it baaad now.
Some tracks on EIP aren't that amazing out of context, but it's such a well put together album that it just flows from start to finish.
It's out on the 1st of October, or get it from Soulseek or demonoid.
There's apparently a special edition version coming with a 15 minute bonus track or somesuch...
I'm getting really sick of all the poncy post-rock stuff - I love Oceansize but this new one bores the pants off me, far too clever dicky for its own good - and very light on any real tunes
is a real tune? How is it to be differentiated from a synthetic one?
A real tune is in 4/4 and sounds like lots of other bands so as to not be too hard for a listener to get their head around.
Everyone knows this, duh.
That said, I've been listening to this all day - out of 9 tracks, I'm detecting about 3 real tunes so far. I'm assuming just like their other albums, the other songs will gradually present their 'tuneage' to me.
In particular the first track is just 8 minutes of nothing. Totally skippable.
unfortunately I'm finding a lot of nothing in it, but then when I first got EIP I thought it was poor and now it's one of my favourite albums ....we'll see
I checked out your stuff and thought it was pretty good ( for a clever dick !! )
But that's cuz Effloresce is AMAZING AMAZING. Frames is AMAZING.
