Anyone see tonight's Prom by any chance?

It was the most entertaining thing I've seen on my Television for as long as I can recall.

The height of musical genius. Rhapsody In Blue played by a superb orchestra, fronted by a ridiculously talented Jazz trio. They did an encore of 'I Got Rhythm'.

I was excited and I had goosebumps.

But I spose no-one caught it...? :'(

  • I watched about a second

But Rhapsody In Blue is only really good when it is set on a film, like in Manhattan. I'm sure Petrushka was good though.

    • I haven't seen it on a film.

But nah, its not. Its really good all the time. Its probably the only piece of music I would still give top marks to even if I was rating it out of 1000.

Petrushka was alright. It didn't have the instant appeal of On The Town and Rhapsody... though.

      • That's because Stravinsky

is a million miles more interesting.

      • the clarinet at the start was still the best bit

despite the pretty amazing improv-y stuff. Also, I love jazz drumming.

        • The improv

          was staggering.

I have a couple of favourite bits. I like the romantic Rakhmaninov(dunnoowtospelitlol) theme sort of bit, when that comes in. And then when the whole orchestra plays the original theme at the end.

      • its called

        'doing a wrighty'
        here's some more:

they have loads of wrinkles and crap suits and think they're so clever just by putting tons of instruments on stage, but they're nothing compared to the simplicity and power of 'Little James'
