David Thomas Broughton
i live in a shithole where lots of people have biffy clyro or SNHC (st neots hardcore) tattoos. i went to see this band once and they said, "this song is called Fuck The System" with no sense of irony. they all claim to like hardcore but have never heard of minor threat? i mean, is that NORMAL? they used to take the piss out of me for being "indie", then i made them all listen to trencher and now they just call me "weird".
they're awful, but my sisters friend designed the t-shirts and they are quite cool.
sorry, you so didn't need my life story right there.
I went to a party in St Neots once. It made me thankful to live in Peterborough.
never been there.... lol
makes you thankful to live in peterborough it must be bad. tho it seems loads of rad ppl come from peterborough...
every week in St Neots. I can't think which is worse, being from there or Huntingdon.
has the best chipshop name ever
but i'm sure if i put my mind to it i could come up with a few decnt bands. there is far too much mundane same as eeverything else tripe though
fony came from redhill?
do me bad things came from croydon.
I always claim it's David Cronenberg's Wife.
Today I'm gonna make no exception.
I've lived all over the world... but I grew up in Norman, OK, USA - so will say the best band was of course, The Flaming Lips. My older brother used to be friends with them in fact :)
Leicster - www.myspace.com/hernameiscalla
Portstewart (Northern Ireland) Where I'm from - www.myspace.com/andsoiwatchyoufromafar
they're from Aberdeen?
toss up between Look See Proof and Stevie V...
purely because Look See Proof are driving me to despair with their 'eight myspazz bulletins a day' regime.
now probably the best band in Brighton. Actually that's not true but they are really good. You'd like them.
Thank you. Not so keen on the fact they don't claim Harrow as their own, but still... we'll always have Kate Nash.
when they were 18. Which was five years ago. And none of them live there now. But then I only think one of them lives in Brighton now!
but Harrow's not even properly *in* North London :'(
One Night Stand In North Dakota
Short Term Effect
redcarsgofaster - www.myspace.com/redcarsgofaster
or more likely public relations exercise
Not a band. You may have heard of him
the chapman famly
oxfam glamour models
half of maximo park
but there is a great band called
NOTHING RHYMES WITH ORANGE from there.
same town as Dashboard Confessional...
Sod Portishead and Massive Attack. We've got Kid Carpet.
was that a joke answer?
it would be the now defunct euro-pop groups The Khe Sanh Aprroach and Miss Black America.
Both utterly brilliant. Utterly.
True Swamp Neglect - Bournemouth's answer to Pavement and nice guys too.
Other than that........
Either the bassist or the drummer from Bloc Party (I forget which), Alex James, Eddie Argos and a few other Art Brut types, Amy Studt (she was like the Happy Shopper Avril Lavigne, you may remember her from about 3/4 years ago, then again perhaps not).
are flipping great, but they come a close second to brenda for me.
..what a kind man you are.
Cambridge-wise, The Resistance blow pretty much everyone out of the water.
obviously i have to also mention The Broken Family Band at this point.
over the resistance personally.
RIP the KSA
was there really no one else apart from the 22-20s?
Kings Shilling / The Glad Rags
East India Playing Company
best bands from my home town (farnborough):
the big ones:
the cooper temple clause
i'm sure there are more
My town's single claim to fame is the drummer from Hard Fi. Then again it's the arse end of nowhere so I suppose that's fair enough.
My next door neighbour is a singer songwriter of the 'so wrong it's legendary' kind though. You can laugh at him here: www.myspace.com/krissfoster
has loads, off-top-of-my-head
I was a cub scout
Lincoln does have some good bands being rotary ten and some others
