(relevance-of-the-genre-name debate optional but discouraged)
(which they aren't or it would be them)
my knowledge of the genre is somewhat of the limited variety however.
but either of Alex Smoke's releases, I think, would be top contenders
...i dont get the fuss?
fuck buttons electronica. but then i'm a pedant.
Audion - suckfish
I still can't get enough of Audion. Matthew Dear should just focus on this full time. If he was making music with the sole intention of making me happy. Which I like to think he is.
but I'll be monitoring this thread for suggestions of what to buy.
604 by Ladytron would get my vote, but I'm not sure if it would be classed as electronica.
I don't think I even know what electronica is anymore.
The Field! I thought you were my friend!
but I need to get, like, some perspective on it. See if I'm still digging it in a year's time.
James Holden - The Idiots Are Winning
Vitalic - OK Cowboy
Ellen Allien & Apparat - Orchestra of Bubbles
I wonder if The Knife falls into this catergory...
Far Away Trains Passing By
'An Album Bach would have produced if he had lived in the 21st Century'
But right now my vote goes to -
Susumu Yokota & Rothko - Distant Sounds Of Summer
I don't really listen to many electronica albums, mostly just single tracks.
Ellen Allien - Thrills
Admittedly I don't listen to half as much of this genre as I should
Isolee album is brilliant too
Dang, I forgot about that one.
Not played it in a year
time to dig back in
I'm getting confused about electronica now...
