hi just wondering if anyone is thinking of submitting for in the city
as i know know what there after half the time
if you don't hear back all you've lost is the cost of a blank cd and a stamp.
In the ast there are alot of bands who have played it and gone onto better things like: The Darkness, The Maccabees, The Subways, ... you've got nothing to loose from applying.
I can imagine there are some bands who can make a good demo but are still a bit shaky live, and for such a band there would seem to be the possibility of wiping out their chances of future success by embarrassing themselves in front of the nation's A&R people. I don't know how likely that scenario is, though.
to play live for A&R long before they get signed? Judging by some of the cack out there though it seems that you'll still get signed if you're singer can't sing and the band can only keep it together for the first thirty seconds of any given track
Does anyone fancy posting a link here for people too lazy to look it out themselves?
They've changed it since last year! That is rancid!!
an epileptic fit in website form. it probably breaches disability guidelines.
my band has been invited to play at this, sounds like a hoot!
last year. It was alright. As usual though we were stuck on a bill with a bunch of hideous fucks who sounded by turns like The Kooks and Kasabian. Each of them brought along a small crowd of brainless shits whose function appeared to be the repeated emanation of a slovenly 'wwhhhaaaaeeeeyyyyyyyyy' sound, punctuated occasionally with 'gwaaarrrrrrrrnnn' and 'ooo oo oooooooh'.
it'll be fun at least. or horrific. i think i shall go this year. last year i did not.
always worth a shot? whats the worst that could happen
maybe being tipped on planet sound in jan might help this year
well, coldplay played to 15 people at in the city...
We headlined a gig above
The Fratellis, The Maccabees and Forward Russia
Damnit they've all certainly gone on to be vastly more successful than us
but that's not the point, by right we should be millionaires by now
i left after the fratellis.
actually i'd completely forgotten i'd seen the fratellis until now.
