just felt like starting a thread about them cos they make me happy.
simply a classic. The last album was poor though.
not ALL the songs, but there are some really good ones. See: Baby's Home.
and unleash my award winning rendition of It's A Shame About Ray. I'd do it, but but my workmates haven't EARNED it yet.
Anyway, Evan Dando is a beautiful man who makes beautiful music and that's all that needs saying.
two people in a week said I looked like Evan Dando which is both a) uttely, completely untrue and which has b) never happened again, and is never likely to.
But it makes me long to move to Scotland....the magical land where I look like Evan Dando.
of being in Swanley where two people said I looked like Michael Owen. I'm not moving there though.
I shall be the judge of that!
= classic song & album
it's a double threat, boo yah!
is a GREAT album and more people should listen to it.
the shit. Too too good.
listen to it much. I still listen to Baby I'm Bored on a much more regular basis, and let's face it, it's basically a Lemonheads record anyway.
one early Lemonheads album, wasn't too keen on it - the other bloke singing didn't seem too great. Although he was called Ben wasn't he? (And there aren't enough Ben's in rock history for my liking).
Most of the really good Lemonheads songs seem to have been written by the bloke from Smudge (Tom Morgan?), and not by Evan at all... or am I making that up - certainly, I brought a load of smudge CDs for 10p each ages ago, with songs that went on to be lemonheads tracks on them...
Ben Gillies - Silverchair
Ben Gibbard - Postal Service
He's a legend, really nice guy. He's got a myspace and is in a band called Varsity Drag now.
a thread about them all the time
It's A Shame About Ray > Car Button Cloth > Come on Feel The Lemonheads
with that mouth?
I want pics!
I look like Jill Dando
Shouldn't be a problem - that would encompass every photo of me ever taken
circa August 2004
at work I'm afraid
No-one's admitting to it anyway...
don't you have a facebook or myspace plastered with pics? *hopeful*
but she's off sick. No Facebook - I'm becoming a social pariah because of it though. I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out
tonight anyhoo, set that baby up!
started a lemonheads thread before have I? I know I've contributed before . . . . PROVE IT!
I stand corrected.
Although I might dig out the records and read the song-writing credits on them tonight to double-check!
3. Dawn Can't Decide
5. Ceiling Fan In My Spoon
1). Outdoor Type
2). My Drug Buddy
4). Knoxville Girl
5). Baby's Home
I've changed my mind already.
Tom Morgan definately wrote "Outdoor Type". All by himself.
doesn't matter to me, still my fav Lemonhead song. My fav fav fav though is the cover of Frying Pan that Evan does on Live @ The Brattle, lush.
the frank mills cover as well... sounds quite antifolk.
but my drug buddy would have to be number 1. Maybe Hannah and Gabi at 2. Great Big No at 3 perhaps.
one of the warning signs of music obsessiveness
you know you've already done it in your head.
1. Alison's Starting To Happen
2. My Drug Buddy
3. Ride With Me
4. If I Could Talk I'd Tell You
5. Into Your Arms (do covers count?)
I'm pretty stoned and gonna listen to Car Button Cloth now
3) different drum
4) into your arms
5) style (b side version with rick james, bitch)
every single song
and today got Lovey in the post off eBay
plus some amazing one off singles from around Lovey
Different Drum cover
the name of which escapes me
cos I had til right now forgotten it existed
it has "can't" in the title
Everything about The Lemonheads is good. Apart from Evan Dando's wasted years meaning we've had less albums than we should.
it was called
"gonna get along without you now"
non album single
very good it is too
i have a coupla cds of the wasted years
purple parallelogram with noel gallagher
quite good actually
amazing if you are in the right moood
in the title! How was I supposed to guess?
It's actually pretty good.
as Evan pointed out once in an interview, you can sing Roll With It over the chorus.
It's A Shame About Ray into my top 5 yesterday. Why didn't somebody remind me?
are from last month and involve me looking comatose and idiotic at the end of an evening. I only post pics where I've got one foot perched on a rock, hands on hips and squinting at the horizon
..is my fave. Also, "If i could talk i'd tell you" is pure sunshine on record
