what albums are good? ive decided to give them more of a listen.
there are times when i think it is the best album ever.
The blue one is okay. The rest are guff.
'very good' please.
and the one with Beverly Hills on are the best. The rest are rubbish, avoid them.
you all messed up.
its really good
this statement is the most wrong this i've ever heard. if i was in power i'd make laws against things like that song.
I actually really like Beverly Hills as a song, lyrics are rubbish but it rocks.
i am not a replacement martbowski.
oh and which one has buddy holly on it?
the best one, i think
pinkerton is very very good as well though
blue: the pop album. buddy holly is track 4 but all ten tracks are great. Only in dreams is my favourite weezer song.
pinkerton: Considered career suicide at the time due to the harsh production and dark lyrical content. Repeated listens reveals weezers most substantial, emotional work.
Green: Weezer do what they do well. really poppy. really short. quite simple. still very good though. 'islands in the sun' is a classic.
maladroit: a little heavier, more guitar solo's generally a bit longer and more complex. still quite poppy though. i actually prefer it to green.
stopped listening after that, sorry. 'Beverly hills' and 'we are all on drugs' were dreadful.
may just give them all a listen
even Make Believe has some good stuff on it.
My advice, listen to them chronologically. ie. start with Blue, then Pink,l Green, Mala. In fact, the ideal thing to do would be to start with Blue, then the b-sides from that period (Jamie, Suzanne, You Gave..., Mykel and Carlie), then Pink+b-sides; then dwell in that period for a long time. It's some of the best music ever made. Then when you're sick of it get Green, then Mala, then Make Believe.
I really think it's worthwhile following the chronology, rather than just buying Pinkerton first or whatever
for the first time in ages on Saturday and I pretty much creamed my pants it was so good.
nothing else comes close
but Green is underrated
then Pinkerton (although my copy went walkabout mysteriously about 3 years ago)
then Blue album.
Then Pinkerton. Buy both! Woohoo!
Mykel & Carlie
I Just Threw Out The Love of My Dreams
You Gave Your Love To Me Softly
Then songs that were demoed for Green or Maladroit, but never recorded properly. A selection include...
That's just a selection. Check out this site:
Pretty decent list. Once you've caned all five albums, start downloading with aplomb. There's a ridiculous amount of quality within Weezer's unreleased catalogue.
and walt disney are two of my favourites, I sometimes wonder what might have been if they had made songs from the black hole but im so glad that pinkerton exists
