tell me about your experiences...
Mine was glastonbury in 1999, I was 16 and we went for free as my mate won tickets. My sisters were furious that I was being allowed to go, claiming they weren't allowed to go to Inverness by themselves at 16, let alone the other end of the country for a music festival...
We got an epic bus from edinburgh and arrived after dark and managed to pitch our tent ok then went and explored for a while and then tried to get some sleep which was tricky due to excitableness. Saw some fine bands over the course of the weekend: ash, underworld, mogwai, pavement, super furries, manics and in the new bands tent saw coldplay, ooberman and nojahoda (anyone remember them!? entertainment galore). Whole thing was quite overwhelming really. Probably one of the best weekends of my life, though I can't really remember all much of it to be honest, the last thing we did was fall asleep in the cinema field watching Go before getting up stupidly early to get a bus.
After that I've only been to TITP in 2001 until this year which has been the year of the festival.
This nostalgia was sparked by looking through old photos:
we look so happy to be there!
