and there's nothing wrong with that.
better than bloody reef.
had a video shot in the Bentall Centre in Kingston, which I find highly amusing. in fact i often walk up the same set of stairs they do in the video and pretend i'm martin rossiter.
it's the little things in life...
which vid was that?
video is filmed around kingston, putney, barnes too by the looks of it.
i remember that the bass player lived/lives in Wandsworth
...apart from maybe dismembered Sleeper.
another part of me dies.
but apart from that they were awful. And Marting Rossister was larry the lamb. Most overrated band to have ever existed and probably due to reform.
Their early run of singles were all great. Really great.
at the Astoria was INCREDIBLE... seriously one of the gigs of my life...
"be my light be my guide", "for the dead", "haunted by you" etc. all the early 7 inches are great. they were not fucking reef or sleeper or none of those britpop rubbish..
martin changed the name "gene" to "gone" on drums. oh i miss gene.
I thought I might see you in here.
"I'm the biggest Gene fan in the world's Dad"
That Southend gig was great.
is one of my favourite songs ever!
But I don't know anything else by them - except Fighting Fit, but then everyone knows that one...
but if you dont know anything else, start with "olympian", perfect.
great albums and bloody good live.
Don't get Revelations, it was shit. But everything else is the business.
for those who likes them live.
but I saw them once, almost by accident back in 97 at the Garage and it was a GREAT GIG
life is good!
was no matter how shit their records got (and, sometimes, they got pretttty shit), the boys knew what side their bread was buttered on and always pretty much just played stuff from the first two albums plus To See The Lights... Psychic?
Alas, tho - that's why he split the band up, suggesting that nobody was there for the new material...
its the most rocking thing to hit the bentall centre ever:
