looks damn good - electric soft parade, idlewild, brakes, frank turner, goldrush
wish i was going ....
enough fun stuff to justify the very cheap price. and there will be frivolity to the max. now we just need some good weather.
remind me why I'm going?
a ticket without knowing what the line-up was. Why are people moaning about it, it isn't impossible to just swap / sell your ticket.
they're not accepting re-allocation
though that is only according to someone who contacted wegottickets and said so on a forum.
devoted to failed indie bands? That line up looks like every band that flopped around 2002.
truck has never been about bands you know being on the line up though has it? its all about the bands you dont know.
Stuff that is worth seeing:
Brian Jonestown Massacre
The Walk Off
Six Nation State
Josh T Pierson
The Rock Of Travolta
A silent film
tristan and troubadours
Blood Red Shoes
I Was A Cub Scout
The Future Of the Left
Plus there are probably bands I dont know that will be really good too.
LOCAL FESTIVAL. Thank you.
I think they are just upset that the likes of the magic numbers arent headlining again? :(
i can i can't?
i think it is just the exception of having 'big name' headliners which sets this year apart from others. but the other bands on the bill are perhaps better than previous years.
especially Nought. Nought are fucking incredible.
its worth going just to see Nought. they will change your life, or at least alter your hearing range.
last time i saw nought they had a stripper. it was awesome. they were like king crimson but dull
idlewild are a big name.
however, you thought nought were dull?
i'm inclined to disagree, but its the kind of music where people are going to disagree forever, even if they like that kind of music.
i saw them play at a cocktail bar in oxford one time, and as you can imagine, it was fucking loud and horrible. perfect for the surroundings.
the Lea Shores !
Go see them !
to see future of the left, winnebago deal and youthmovies
though I will be doing everything in my power to avoid youthmovies.
on the messageboard at ATP vs Fans was something about their singer taking time off from studying his GCSEs to be able to play the fest
There was a news story about it, and a thread in here, and a thread in Festivals that goes back at least two months.
Truck question: having never been at a properly wet one, does the ground churn up much? Assuming it will be this year I'm wondering whether to chance it with my old trainers, buy sturdy hiking boots or go for the full wellies option.
The organisers dumped a load of hay down promptly on the main walkway and it was fine. Apart from one section in the main campsite.
but as I recall that was one massive storm for a couple of hours and that was it for the weekend, whereas if the weather is like as it is now it might not be as easy to clear.
and if it rains solidly throughout the weekend it will be a mudbath. Any open piece of land with grass and lots of people walking over it constantly will be. But it's small enough for succesful damage-limitation I reckon.
I.E bring your wellies.
crappy old trainers and wellies for backup. depending upon the weather in the few days before of cours
Wellies should be an absolute LAST RESORT. the discomfort is too much to bear.
any form of non cross country moving or farming based activity is extremely hard in Wellies. Especially any form of contemporary dance.
my friend's is just going to go to waste otherwise. she tried to transfer it apparently.
panther girls are doing some dances for piney gir and at 2pm on satuday we're gonna teach audience type people who want to learn a dance to do to a specific piney song a dance...if you'd like to learn it come to the disco tent thingy at about 2pm and we can play at dancing...
hope this isn't considered dastardly mis-use of forum!
