I'm so fucking excited.
My friend is being a mental and is already waiting outside the venue.
Ah, that explains why her band were jamming down the studio on Hackney Road saturday afternoon.
...and also explains that mental woman who burst into my group's practise and tried to give me a blow job.
I mean, shit, I'm not generally gonna turn down free oral pleasure, but in the middle of 15/8 groove?
THE WORLDS MOST DISGRACEFUL BITCH. Next to her Madonna looks likeable.
I bet you get really excited by Pete Doherty shows too. Something appealing about a train wreck?
who hate Courtney Love as though she had personally shat on their cornflakes.
Presumably because she had the temerity to hang around with musicians and have fun rather than stay at home and be a good little wifey.
I don't hate her. I just don't rate her as a musician. Hole were good IN SPITE of her, and her solo album was truly pants. Moreover, anyone who spends that sort of money to see her live is surely only going along to see how dishevelled she looks.
And yes, as Vikram says below, she killed Kurt (allegedly).
....interesting. She's lost A LOT of weight, didn't look good at all. The new songs sounded alright, some were great. She did a few Hole songs (Doll Parts, Miss World, Celebrity Skin, Northern Star) but the whole thing lacked something. Passion, I think. She's obviouisly in her 40's now and isn't going to be wild or anything but it seemed really..... forced, especially the Hole stuff. A shame really. It was still great to see her perform though and 'Doll Parts' was AMAZING.
It was a very wayward performance and quite a lot of it seemed almost extemporised - the half hour encore was terrific, but not even the band seemed to have much idea what she was going to do.
With a few exceptions, it was the new stuff that she seemed most passionate about. She seems to have left the old material behind, in spirit, if not in actuality.
Great to see her, but it was not entirely comfortable viewing.
