Anyone know an easy way to record stuff on your computer.

Like internet radio shows and things. Can it be done? Sorry I don't know very much about computers. Cheers.

    Just use a microphone.

  • audacity or sound forge are programs

music production software like logic and cubase are other programs

if you get a mini jack to mini jack lead (mini jack being whats at the end of earphones for plugging) and take it out of your heaphone hole and into your microphone hole (if you have them) its easy to record a stream

If you're on a mac, sound studio or garageband will do fine. If you on a PC... well, lol.

you don't need to use a lead with audacity though...the newer version has a 'what you hear' setting

          • What's your point?

I just used the crappy audio device that came with my computer which everyone has, works fine. The PC vs Mac debate is lame.

      • Just downloaded Audacity

It's brilliant. Just took me about 5 mins to work out how to get it to record in stereo then I was away. Thanks so much, if I ever see any of you I'll be sure and buy you a drink. Thanks.

  • use windows moviemaker

as you probably already have it, change the audio source to stereo mix and it will record whatever noise your computer is making

    • How do I do that?

Just tried it but in the help section it says I have to click on 'Capture from video device' to change the audio source but it won't let me because I don't have a video device connected. Thanks.
