Who's in charge here?
For the record, I actually quite liked the first two songs on the Gay Dad album.
They have the whole Verve back catalogue to choose from and they pick....Lucky Man.
I love that song! Did anyone ever hear the Trespassers William cover?
I might have to hunt it down.
I just went on amazon and bought an album.
the most recent one is good but not as good as Different Stars.
that I just purchased!
I like that album a lot. 'Having' has much more elaborate production but the songs aren't as good. It's worth getting though.
but i do like Tresspassers, William. they're lovely.
I'd kinda forgotten about them, might go and see what they've got out.
just a Shine compilation extreme isn't it?
AND MEGA CITY FOUR!
But yeah. It's nothing that I'd imagine most people around the ages of 25-30 couldn't actually make themselves from their own collection.
and I own about 90% of this.
But still: NO SHED SEVEN!
Did I miss the Bluetones on there as well, or am I being blind?
slight return is on there.
I could think of 50 better bluetones songs.
Are You Blue Or Are You Blind
Four Day Weekend
Don't Stand Me Down
Now I'm done.
Putting Out Fires
I could go on!
Bluetones Big Score
we could be here all day
3 Nov, Shepherds Bush Empire!
YES YES YES! Are tickets on sale?
If you are serious then I'll get tickets!
Sleazy Bed Track is NOT better than Slight Return. I'll fight you!
COME ON THEN!
Meet me in Trafalgar Square in 10 minutes. It'd save time if you called for your ambulance now.
just straight up fists. I'll be wearing my 'superior quality recordings' t-shirt.
Oh well. I won't be buying it. I might just buy some blank CDs and make my own version of it. Which will rule as it will contain Mambo Taxi, BMX Bandits and Kinky Machine rather than Rialto.
And Shed Seven.
you do 2 cd's and I'll do 2 cd's.
It'll be better than that heap.
or you could make me a copy?
I'll get on with the tracklisting this evening. EXCITEMENT. Ish.
I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Disc 4 is the worst thing I have ever seen in my life.
He ended up punching me in the face. Twice.
Catherine Wheel -'I Want To Touch You'
The Family Cat -'(Thought I'd Died) And Gone To Heaven'
Ned's Atomic Dustbin -'Grey Cell Green'
Manic Street Preachers -'Stay Beautiful'
Teenage Fanclub -'Star Sign'

Mega City Four -'Wallflower'
These songs NEVER appear on compilations. They could have picked a better Verve song, and WHERE THE FUCK ARE CARTER USM? But other than that, I'll probably buy this for my 11-year-old nephew who lives in the States. It's time he came of age. :-)
Usually the Teenage Fanclub contribution is Sparky's Dream.
would have been my Teenage Fanclub choice (fantastic guitar bits), but Star Sign's ace too.
I'm really impressed that they put 'Lazarus' by the Boo Radleys on there - it shows that it was put together by people who're fans of all the bands, for a change.
Isn't Rhino the label that also does Nuggets?

You've just gone through loads of Chart Show indie charts circa 91-94 haven't you?
I had to do it the hard way - all from memory. Then I got tired, hence the all over the place tracklisting :)
However you compiled it. Compulsion, Adorable, Mint 400...all 'blasts from the past'.
Also, I always assumed Done Lying Down were American. Didn't realise they were from the UK.
in fact the adorable stuff was near genius, and still stands up well today
were English with one American I think.
SHE'S PULLING DOWN THE TOWER...
Just a Misdemeanor > Dissent
My and Rich were going to make one, and now I'm just going to look like I've copied!
Damn you! (good work on the Flying Medallions though).
would be suitably different! Quiet day at work you see, sorry Bamos.
and by different I mean better.
I plied dave with drink then watched him wreck the house, all the while condeming his actions.
Did she honestly say to you that my girlfriend was out of my league in both looks and personality?
I think she might have done. She did deny calling you a cunt though.
In my head she is calling me one.
have an mp3 of barny by molly half head? i've fucking love to have one, but i only have it on a very worn 12"
I *might* be able to convert it to mp3 by a long convoluted process. But it's unlikely. I'll keep you posted.
The Bluetones are rubbish
All style, no substance
Bluetones were awful. Apart from Slight Return. Then they burnt out.
Ooh look we're wearing suits and playing shit glam rock
Menswear >>>>>>>>>>>>> Bluetones
Stardust > Slight Return
at the gig while he sits at home :)
(but nowhere near as much as the bluetones!)
and read the Tora in Hebrew than go and see The Bluetones
cos you're not invited :P
shit glam rock? Thats nonsense.
therefore its nonsense.
the works of Mahler?
'Shit dad rock'
why can't we go and watch Shampoo?
I don't understand why anyone liked them then, let alone now.
SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT.
With that whiney song about how fucking awful it is when Pink Floyd sue you for making up shit loads of stuff about them to sell your book. Oh BOO FUCKING HOO!
is a lost masterpiece.
i'll manage somehow was a pretty good single, though i feel sorry for the fools that splashed out £50 - £100 for it secondhand when it came out.
gay dad are pretty much awful, the bluetones were far better then people give them credit for.
was once a special guest at Hendon Youth's Award Ceremony. He didn't present my award though, that was some councilor from Barnet Council.
from Menswear, I think I was just going through a 'anyone in britpop' stage.
thank god, I never stooped that low. I hated Cast.
he now works in a mobile phone shop in london......
by 'being brave'
Sleeping In is a good song.
