Any board fans?
The Clean's albums I've recently purchased have a decidedly psychadellic flavor. As does BJM.
But you're after old stuff?
Jefferson Airplane's (is it?) White Rabbit... or no it's Surrealistic Pillow. That's good.
Jimi Hendrix, of course. But I'm not really that Experienced. Ha!
The Box Tops? Not really psychadelia, tho but the better version of THE LETTER.
I was just listening to Forever Changes (AGAIN - sigh), LOVE, which got me a thinkin'.
Have you seen/got the live perfomance of the album in its entirety? Awesome DVD...
I saw them play in Islington a couple years back.
The DVD is when Arthur is very ill, tho - it's moving watching him on stage perform, especially when he sings,
"I see your picture.. it's in the same old frame... we meet again...
You look so lovely.. you with the same old smile... Stay for awhile......"
a few years back was an overwhelming experience
great stuff...I'm listening to Marty Wildes popsike album at the moment, then I'm gonna sling on the first Left Banke album I think.
Do you like/know the United States of America lp? That's very psychedelic...
They are so good. I got obsessed with them about a year ago. I wish their records were easier to find
I know the feeling...I've got their first album, but 'Too' is near impossible to get without spending 'proper' money, and I think that has my favourite tracks on it.
Easier and cheaper to find is the 'hot parts' porno soundtrack, which has a couple of tracks listed as solo by the lead singer, but basically Left Banke tracks, insofar as it was him singing mike browns songs. Thats normally about a tenner on the 'bay
Last.fm has played me a couple of tracks. I really like what I've heard.
I particularly like the Thirteenth Floor Elevators. Make sure you check out an album called "Easter Everywhere"
understand the question
I got a mono first pressing ;)
aah man...the production of their lps really puts me off. I can handle lo-fi, but everything is so murky and distant
aaand The Nightcrawlers - 'Little Black Egg' is a great song.
most of that is garage- also great!
I am listening to mass in F minor right now, and last night after reading this thread and drinking a bottle of win, I drunkenly bid on and one a first pressing of Os Mutantes second album for £40...a bargain!
The Pink Fairies and other Mick Farren related stuff.
Twink "Think Pink" a great lost psych monster.
good piece about it here:
you would have done but you get minus points for suggesting that crummy comp...Syd Floyd is psychedelic, Sf Sorrow by the Pretty Things is psychedelic, July's album is psychedelic. 'are you going to sanfransico' is pony ;)
Silver Apples. Or White Noise. Shame on you.
Twink was in The Pretty Things!
dunno 'bout that...he was more of a session guy for some of SF Sorrow than a proper member.
Fair dues to him for playing with Syd Barrett in Stars though...
of prettty things are on Think Pink, its amazing.
