Asobi Seksu opening act.
I saw both bands yesterday in Brighton, great gig!
Don't miss it!!!
exit calm are the opening act (on at 8.30) for those of you who remember Lyca Sleep :P
Asobi will be on at about 9.15pm, with D&B on about 10ish.
Got some special Asobi Seksu posters on me too that we've done for the Industry show tomorrow night. If you want one, come and ask me in the DJ booth.
I'm gonna get me one of them.
I have a room that needs a poster or two too.
my name's on the poster
a poster... will come to the BOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH
if you can't make it tonight, dean & britta are also playing tomorrow at the legion with the clientele, the flowers of hell and le volume courbe.
but I'm seeing Asobi Seksu again at Industry.
Can you not move it to Thursday?
Asobi will be at the Industry with a bunch of great bands!
Looking forward to see them live.
don't know dean and britta AT ALL though... I'm there for Asobi Seksu
What should I expecT?
the galaxie 500 and luna songs they'll be playing...
You should check them out, unfortunately dean & britta will be somewhere else that night but still worth checking asobi out!
they certainly have been on recent gigs...
My excitement for this gig (which was already pretty high) is now stratospheric.
I've just investigated and they've been playing 'Strange' at some gigs and not others. I don't like making requests but I may make an exception tonight.
They played Tugboat and Strange and Ceremony! All three were stunning too. The Dean and Britta and Luna songs were good too. Asobi Seksu were great too.
All in all, great gig. Good work, Robin.
i was at work till really late and couldnt get out in time. they better let me out early tomorrow, otherwise i will quit.
They finished with Ceremony and I couldn't have been happier (unless Damon and Naomi came on stage to perform it).
i hope they play ceremony again tomorrow!and tugboat!and strange!glad you had a good time though!
echoing those who said last night was fantastic - it really was.
and I've just booked my tickets to see them again at Water Rats next week.
I think that Dean & Britta were very much 'one for the fans' - I couldn't get into them at all, mainly because I was still buzzing from the support act.
i was just about to post this.
I was all over Asobi Seksu - they were great. For me it was a shame they weren't the main act as Dean & Britta really wasn't for me... I rarely leave early and it wasn't because it was bad, i just didn't find it interesting enough to stay for.... one song though, something like heads will roll or heads together or something was great.
I also was chatting to Ulrich Schnauss for most of the night. and i meated Robin and got a poster. great evening - thanks Robin!
glad you all enjoyed it!
i have a fucking evil hangover today. evil i tells ya.
dean and britta seemed alright too, from the 15mins i saw of their set (had to run for a train), just not really as immediately impressive i guess..
why others liked Dean & Britta, go here: http://hellischromefullstop.blogspot.com/2007/06/galaxie-500-dont-let-your-youth-go-to.html
It wasn't their debut UK show. They also played Strange and Ceremony, both from On Fire.
Galaxie 500/Luna/Dean & Britta/Damon & Naomi resource:
i didn't realise asobi had played over here before, i wanted extra indie points for seeing them the first time.
i'm sure the singer said it was their first london show? or something?
nice link, ta.
i think stuff like this is the reason i have so many posts.
gosh, of course, they played in brighton the night before didn't they? i = stupid.
i = also stopping now.
even read the original post?'
which makes it worse.
I was going to comment on your blog earlier (before you mentioned it in this thread) but I needed to sign up or something.
that didn't consist of jamie summers saying "look! your first comment!" or something.
how were asobi last night?
my gig going companion was not up to it.
but I'm sure I saw Okkervil River last May (2006).
you're really enjoying it.
I'm actually reading your blog!
that i'm not yet used to. i'm going out now as well, any further corrections should be PMed x
not first UK show.
