I think it's a bit...dull. I'm really hoping it will work better in context of the album.
or Flare Gun? or something else?
All the new material I've heard has been fantastic anyway.
I didn't realise more had leaked!
I've just found Final Fantasy's cover of John Cale's Paris 1919. This should be amazing.
Paris 1919 is amazing.
Flare Gun isn't going to be on the album or owt, i don't think.
listen to The Butcher. it's really, really beautiful.
any studio versions of The Butcher?
and seen the performances on youtube.
there might be though!
leave me alone.
This is ace. :D
the next album's gonna be 'maaaaaaaaazing, and you knows it.
stop your hating.
Both are great. Although not as good as the Cadence Weapon tracks with Final Fantasy.
they have a great name!
Awesome Canadian rapper who used to write for Pitchfork! Write? RIGHT!
and he recorded a radio show with Owen where they did semi-duets.
and it rooled.
ask Paul for a link, or something.
Although I quite enjoyed the reworking of This is the Dream of Win and Regine.
I always feel kinda... dirty listening to leaks
they're recordings from live shows.
THERE'S A WHOLE WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.
Im gonna wait till the new album so I get full effect. Not really been listening to FF much recently, but will once the album comes out.
Which is when, anyone?
They were recorded at shows he did before the release of his album, so if you're planning on going to one of his gigs, you're going to hear them anyway.
And the album is released um. Dunno.
Unless it's an amazing live recording!
Glad it's not on the album though. PHEW!
(Esopus, I think it's called?)
the entire compilation was about Spam emails. hence the lyrics.
but I still think my 2 posts were more informative than your 1.
now leave me alone.
like Owen has just ripped it off!
I want more John Cale solo stuff please!
stylistically, all of Final Fantasy's work is VERY similar to this John Cale song.
Owen is infinitely more fucked up though.
that he can only cover songs that are already quite similar in structure to his own, so that he can deconstruct and loop them easily.
He's much too clever to have to rip anybody off.
The version of Flare Gun from the Esopus cover CD is unmixed, which is why it sounds a little bit funny. It wasn't mixed in time for the deadline and the editor of Esopus liked it as it was, so they just put it on.
P.S. He's finished recording a six-track EP called 'Spectrum, 14th Century' which is going to be a precursor to the album. And he's finallyyy recorded proper versions of Hey Dad and What Do You Think Will Happen Next for a new 7". (And Beirut helped!)
ive been listening to he poos clouds and the ep all week and need some more stuff.
And I love DownThemAll, makes getting bootlegs so much easier
