blonde redhead as far as I can tell.
I think the end of the title was meant to be one of them is 'good'. so obviously that excludes the Beatles
but after seeing Underground Railroad on Sunday, I definitely preferred the songs where the bassist's singing to the ones with the drummer. Partly because of the mixing, her voice seemed to be part of the music rather than being on top of it. If that makes sense.
Although, all of those have still done pretty good songs with their supposed "shit" vocalist, so... I'm talking crap. On the whole though, I do prefer each band when one of the frontmen in particular if fronting. I think that's the case, almost inevitably, with all bands with co-frontmen who alternate. The only band that comes to mind which it isn't the case for is The Wrens. So that's much more interesting. Ask about that instead.
Except both of them are shit.
Ditto with Oasis.
Just as well the music is shit as well.
Oasis suck balls. Embrace are way better. Jeu! They have two vocalists as well. Sometimes. Embrace it is. Add them to the list.
they are both great, I assume dan is the 'shit' one but come on shine a light, we built another world, modern world!!!
"We Built Another World" is one of the least memorable tracks on the album, and "Shine A Light", although a great pop song (and probably my favourite Boeckner track), is nowhere near the likes of "Dear Sons and Daughters" and "I'll Believe".
Like I said, it's not so much that his Wolf Parade stuff is shit, and in many ways I think it adds balance to the album, I just think Krug's stuff is far more interesting.
as bob nanna.
actually I don't mind the bloke's voice in Blonde Redhead, although it suited their old Sonic Youth-y style better than their new material.
you sit through thurston and kim's stuff then lee does ONE song and makes the rest of the album redundant. genius.
oh and amy blue (snigger)
And that song is the best thing on 23. So he can't be all bad.
which voice don't you like in The Delgados?
If you say Emma Pollock, i seriously cannot understand. But i thought they were both pretty good weren't they?
but I never much cared for Alun's.
I liked the Delgados. LOTS.
i love the scottish slang expressions alun throws in. the delgados' first, ooh, four albums are gold.
keep her wailing in the background, there's a good lad Win
the one that sounds like an old drunk.
blood brothers...the almost 'normal one'. he sings the shit cliched lyrics too.
I always preferred the songs Mark Gardener sang on, except for 'Deep Inside My Pocket' from 'Tarantula', which quite frankly is SHIT
ian mckay is terrible...passionate..but horrible.
When he sings on the likes of Argument, Cashout, 23 Beats Off and Shut The Door, it's really haunting. Even though Guy is much better.
And I love his angry bark. Even though I can definitely see how it would grate on people's nerves. I'm just used to it in hardcore.
anyone remember them and their 'subtle' combination of rapping, singing and 'old school' rock ?
i just couldn't think of more than one example in the 30 seconds it took me to do this post last night.
Interestingly the first Preston SOI album was MILES better than any songs he ever sang with pavement. Cheeky swine was saving all the hits for himself, i reckon.
is that a joke?
who's the shit one then?
they're quite clearly both amazing.
his voice reminds me of the singer from kasabian
1) Location: Australia. This is wrong. You've made one glaring error already, which represents a precident.
2) That picture. You clearly look unsure. It's not the picture of a man who's firm in his conviction.
Ergo, you're wrong on this.
1) you spelled precedent wrong. this means you are stupid and therefore wrong.
2) In that picture I am actually thinking very deeply about something and reached a conclusion which was irrefutably correct. It was concerning the location of the adapter plug for my groovebox.
Ergo, I am always right.
Also, Gruff should stay as the vocalist to Super Furry Animals and limit all this 'taking turns' business of recent years.
to kick in
Unlistenable in a sometimes listenable-to way. Specially their second album.
is my favourite
The drummer's crap at singing.
especially on the new one, Lou Barlow's songs are soo shit compared to J's.
Sebadoh are ace.
Every song that other guy that's not stewart sings is horrible
i always prefer the Stevie songs.
but most of them.
That one off the Life Pursuit that stevie sings (actually if I can't remember it that's probably not a good sign is it?)
Space Boy Dream is good but spoils the slow of the album
That ugly one whines like a bitch.
that's all of them.
Low are pretty AND good at singing.
if Coxon always sounded as good as on Coffee On TV
