dig me out = da bomb.
there, there. It's gonna be alright.
Not as "alright" ...but still...bands tend to know when to call it quits. S-K was essentially a one-trick pony that managed half a dozen great albums. Let's not be greedy, eh?
*remembers I haven't seen S-K live*
Ignore the above. You're right Jamie. This sucks!
i am an idiot.
There are really obvious differences between all of the albums after Dig Me Out. Compare the Hot Rock to say...the Woods. They are polar opposites. But I guess you think they should have gone through a Brazilian house music phase or something...
at least it wasn't a split split. always a chance they'll want to do a few shows in a few years or something
I saw them at ATP last year and they were pretty much the highlight of the weekend for me.
They had great music, beliefs, attitude, they were clever and also really nice people. And Corin's voice sends shivers down your spine sometimes.
I miss them :(
(literally one of the best moments of my life) I am reminded there are other pathetic creatures in the world just like me. :)
Dr: Would you say the best moment in your life was getting married, having a baby--
oR: It was when David Bowie slapped my hand at the end of Station To Station in 1989.
Dr: Ok, that was going to be my next guess.
Many, many of my great moments so far have involved music in some way.
they were really boring at ATP last year. In fairness I didn't know any of their stuff beforehand (and still don't), but... all their songs were basically these 'spiky' feminist angular guitar things, all of which sounded the same and none of which contained so much as a memorable hook.
they picked good bands for their day at ATP!
like some of their albums, they were pretty rubbish at ATP last year.
but still better than most.
