I've not liked this band for ages, but this is a seriously good record.
Is there a lot more guitar on this than there was on the last record?
its too weird for white stripes, maybe it will grow on me
none of the tracks have stood out for me yet, which is weird for white stripes, theres usually one or 2 that do
I love this band, but I thought Get Behind Me Satan was relatively weak.
I haven't heard anything from Icky Thump other than the two songs on Later last week, but the fact that someone thinks it's 'too weird' is a good omen I think
i think it's probably excellent, but on first listen i'm bit baffled, which is quite rare
and 'Catch Hell Blues' stands out for me.
A lot stronger record than 'Satan' was. Gets a big thumps up from me.
Elephant was brilliant
White Blood Cells and De Stijl were beyond brilliant
The White Stripes was brilliant
I cannot wait to hear this. And to see them next week. Excitement.
Conquest really caught me first listen as did 300M.P.H Torriental Outpour Blues
So far so good alot more guitar and momentum and not nearly as pop as Satan :D:D:D:D:D:D
Chris moyles played it and it seemed far too odd to be on the morning radio 1 schedule.
n possibly one of the weaker moments on the album from what i can tell thus far. Im already on 2nd listen and yet again refusing to skip anything, I just dont want to
What i mean is it's all killer no filler but fine twist my words lol
They really are clueless idiots.
cause its easier to digest
silly billies. I much prefer the new one.
but based on that cruddy single, I'm not expecting much.
(the song) is my favourite White Stripes tune since their White Blood Cells days, I'm well looking forward to this...
Has it leaked?
and in amazing quality too
why couldnt the raconteaurs be this fucking good?
A real return to form. Get Behind Me Satan was dreadful, even a huge white stripes fan should be able to admit that, it's not worth defending it. But this is really ace. There's the obligatory unnecessarily weird track that just doesn't work (Prickly Thorn, but Sweetly Worn), but it more than makes up for it with the rest.
I loves it.
the second half is a bit weak but The Denial Twist, My Doorbell, Little Ghost, White Moon and Blue Orchid are all among the best songs Jack's ever written.
I'm starting to think it's all a concept album about Rita Hayworth rather than just the two obvious songs.
Give it another few listens people. There are times when I think it's their best record and I'm "a huge white stripes fan".
