But Liars in that venue will be immense!
...a bit early to make judgements, but it does sound different from the last two...
Is it more "accessible"?
and i think *everyone* is special.
as to the record - it's a weird one - i heard it in the background and was underwhelmed - it didn't seem as magical or otherworldly as their recent stuff - but then i had a quick headphone skim and it made more sense close-up, if you get me...
very basically, it's more like the first record than anything, but perhaps less rabble-rousing, more tuneful..?
That's the same day as Blood Brothers, the idiots
BB will probably come and party after their gig.
Must be fairly easy to get from ULU to JoJo's. Hopefully.
Cheers. I is a central London n00b.
i better have a job and be living in london by then!
to post here as soon as tickets go on sale. AS SOON AS! YOU HEAR?
i've got fuckall else to do in this office
same night as bright eyes, who, quite frankly, can piss off...
have you got a spare Bright Eyes tickets for that night then??
might try and swap it for the other night first
but i reckon i'll keep my ticket
would i like it?
when local slightly hyped up bands are playing there. Can't imagine what the queues will be like or how ridiculously packed it will be for Liars.
I've been a couple of times, the first was for Gay Against You which was amazing because they terrified all the hipsters. It's very NME haircutcentric though.
if it's that 'scenester', nothing like some people make out, it's just full of students who are into indie and probably think they're the shit. Some people act as if it's the mecca of urban-boho cool, like some sort of Brooklyn party with Animal Collective and Thurston Moore in the house.
I don't really see it myself. Plenty of normal people and, unfortunately, a few people with misplaced attitude who chat over acoustic bands.
it's a mix of scene, indie kids and random stragglers who are in the west end and just want a late drink.
For a few reasons. Good band selection, drinks prices not too offensive, friendly DJs, good tunes, nice venue, ok atmosphere. All you can ask for.
Lots of my friends go (though some admittedly are the twats) and I like it a lot.
but it did seem very sceney when i was there
any idea whether the tickets will be on sale before monday (when i'm disappearing off to america for 2 weeks) ? if not i'll have to beg someone on here to get me one
thankee young sir
we shall wait and see
don't get liars. even drums aren't dead. I know that i should.
i'm seeing them at field day.... what other albums should i have digested?
How fast d'ya reckon these will go?
Couple of days I reckon, they keep some back to sell on the night (but they'll be a huge queue)
In Liars news there's only 10 advanced tickets left - they're going on the door of White Heat on Tuesday. It's looking like there might not be any on the door on the actual night so this Tuesday might be your last chance to get tickets!
