pretty pointless and a waste of money.
Would YOU agree with this?
There are some great ones out there.
'The name of this band is Talking Heads' is pure class. As good if not better than studio output.
I'd love to hear live albums by:
trail of dead
who are brilliant at shows
they're all 'official bootleg' type things by disclive, you know the ones you can buy after shows? whatever was left over weas released to retail in the US.
but there are some genuinely great ones!
I think 'Live Seeds' is probably my favourite.
superior to studio recordings
proves you wrong.
but a really good bootleg of a full show can be amazing.
radiohead at nijmengen is fantastic.
but live albums always seem really dull and lose the feeling of being there to m.
they're becoming a lost art really, which is crap considering that so many bands are a pale shadow of themselves when they do stuff in studios.
the Black Lips one just out this year live from Tijuana is real good.
There are so many live albums where the tracks are so much better then the versions on the studio album.
I'm a real sucker for live albums actually, I'll snap any any that looks half interesting. It's a shame though that it isn't so common these days for bands to do live albums but there's still plenty of bootlegs about.
I'm dead serious.
mad for Sadness, is probably my favourite record ever, and that was recorded live...
Same as broadcasting gigs live on the radio of tv.
what is wrong with TV on the Radio?
Something about live albums?
I retire from words.
classic live albums for it to be bad
It's like being there. It's brilliant.
BB King-Live At Regal
Clutch-Live In Flint, Michigan
Sure there's plenty of crappers out there but theres some zingers too.
Nighthawks At The Diner
I usually steer pretty clear of live albums, but this is one of my favourites from his vast collection.
Proof that not all live albums are dead matter.
and Love playing 'Forever Changes' live are absolutely amazing...perhaps better than the original studio material.
Live albums are often very good indeed.
