arcade fire opening for bjork = DiS wet dream ?
Check that Go! Team slot. Pressure much?
Get to see Brakes, Cold War Kids, Modest Mouse, Long Blondes, The Cribs, Klaxons, Go! Team, Bright Eyes, Super Furry Animals, Chemical Brothers, Arcade Fire and Bjork
as opposed to who they were actually following
Of course you have to avoid Bright Eyes beforehand...
*ducks from the inevitable barrage of abuse coming this way*
i wonder what the reaction will be like
but the rakes above modest mouse = nutty
and mika above both of them. my lord emily eavis is a tard
The View above both of them...
by someone who actually gives a shit about music!!!!
the sunday looks dodgy, only really the Go! Team worth seeing. In my opinion of course.
you can have my ticket. Its piss thus far.
Those little stages better have some treats on them, because at the moment I am staying at home.
But much of the stuff I like there I have seen a million times before. Give me something new.
Glastonbury is Q magazine in style isnt it?
Q do a guide to it, its more middle class than reading and leeds but not as middle class as v. So yeah. If R&l are NME, Download is Kerrang, and V is the guardian music section, then yeah, Glasto is Q
Troubleis, Q is for people that havent bought a record since Morning Glory and havent been to a gig since Knebworth.
...until tomorrow when all the good stuff gets announced!
Bjork, Modest Mouse and others arent good? thats pretty radical!
Bjork is a coup alright, although seen her a feww times - including at Gbury at the peak of her powers.
Arcade Fire, seen em - was okay.
Modest Mouse rule of course, but seen them twice in the last fortnight! But yes they will be unmissable.
I guess I am:
a) old and grumpy
b) lucky to live close enough to loads of venues and have enough money to go to whatever shows I want, so these sorts of line ups tend to disapoint.
I need things I cant just go and see at Bristol academy for £12.
But thats inherent at Glastonbury mainstages so not really in a grump, just need to see what tomorrow brings.
Friday (June 22)
The Magic Numbers
Saturday (June 23)
The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Sunday (June 24)
Manic Street Preachers
National Youth Orchestra (with Goldfrapp)
Glastonbury Town Band
Amazingly all I want to see on that are Arctic Monkeys (who I will probably miss for Bjork) and Killers because I have finally succumbed to their ways and they might be good there.
Sunday has to be the worst day of music of all time. Goldfrapp?!! Morrison??!! Bassey (oh how Jo Wiley will shit herself with excitement - after someone has told her to), MSP 9worst band of all time) and the fucking Who!
No, wont be going near the mainstage that day.
had better deliver or I am throwing the mother-strop.
Turns out ATP vs Fans has ruined my enjoyment of everything else.
the View are playing twice?!!!
This is like at the end of the 90's when they used to think it was cool to put Ash and Kula Shaker on 6 times each.
Fetch the gun.
and los camps are on park.
and madness are playing lost vagueness.
okay, i'm losing it now.
or dyer as we spell it up here.
guillemots, gogol bordello, bloc party .. thats it ...
to return my ticket?
Just remembered my motto:
Bands ruin festivals / the worse the line up the better the time.
Its therefore amazing!
And i will probably go and see the manics just because ive never seen them before.
Dont do it to yourself.
Worst band of all time.
I see that one is still wearing a dress - oooooo edgy.
in fact connect>>>>>>>>glasto so much
bar the Good, the Bad and the Queen, Bloc Party maybe, and the Manics (note: the manics have started playing songs they havent touched in 15 years), its nothing on the other stage.
but the rest of the lineup is sweet.... jesus christ... shame about the bjork-spiritualized-hot chip clash
Fatboy slim (obv, twouldnt be glasto without him)
Four tet. i think.
tomorrow i'm sure.
...and Holy Fuck playing midnight on Thursday!
the line-up is amazing!
e.g. Friday alone: Bjork, Arcade Fire, Emmy the Great, Los Campesinos, Modest Mouse, Bright Eyes, New Pornographers, Martha Wainwright, Kid Harpoon, Four Tet.
I mean seriously, you have to be pretty fussy to quibble with that...?!
the only time i'm going to be at the pyramid is when i'm walking from one stage to another. particularly impressed with the park
I'm annoyed that Bjork, Arcade Fire and Klaxons are on it. It just sucks.
that all the best bands get put on the Other stage because it's rubbish.
