thats right. tonight its gonna happen. ROR. this'll teach the normals a lesson!
anyone know who is supporting?
or for me: lots of kopparberg.
best live band of 2007...
i've already bought tickets to loads of other things, and i'd hate to spoil them and waste the money.
I'll be there. Sorry.
ASTORIA ME UP MOTHERFUCKER!
SONGS OF LOVE ECHO UNDERCLASS BETRAYAL!
STOPS YOUR HEART BEATING FOR 168 SECONDS
STOPS YOUR BRAIN THINKING FOR 168 SECONDS!!!!!!!!!
wowow. Anyone know what time Manics are on?
so 8:30/9:00ish i expect.
if that helps. Which it probably won't.
hmm, 8.30ish a good plan then?
they usually do bang-on 90 minute sets, so that still allows 2-ish hours before curfew.
and said it was the best time he had ever seen them, and he has seen them 16 times! Bodes well for tonight.
I hope it's ace.
in a spoonies beforehand right? exact address so i can streetmap it?
Kingsway, Holborn. There'll be DiSers there from 6ish if anyone wants to join us.
they are very long sets, but high energy and very good. they came on at about 9.45 in leeds.
a Manics forum, they've consistently been on between 9.05pm-9.15pm...
been looking at the setlists from this tour, oh me oh my...
he says last night there was a lot of stuff from the first 2 albums.
by the manic street preachers, take one!
It was playing on the radio as I woke up. I was confused. I can't remember who I thought it was at first.
IS NOT ENOUGH!
I'm going to have to listen to it again to work out who it reminded me of. DAMN YOU WIRE
I'll give you that one for free.
Because their album is fucking amazing.
glitter in your life babes
i now have a litre of cider, plus waitrose bread and olives and cake for the train journey. MMMM.
Keep the cider bottle. You'll need something to put your DESPAIR in after the gig.
IS DESPAIR. and it smells of cowpoo
this was brilliant. This was the first time I've seen the Manics in their own gig for 9 years, and I'm so glad I went. All the band are looking much thinner and fitter and on top form, back in military jackets.
I'll have to see a setlist, but I got the impression that most of the songs were from Generation Terrorists and the Holy Bible. Lots of gems, and I finally got to see Faster. The new songs are still pretty mediocre, but translate better live - Ocean Spray sounded 'not half bad'. Send Away The Tigers was ace.
There was a real mix of fans there - some going crazy for the new songs, some like me and my friends who love stuff up to This Is My Truth, and an ever-decreasing row of leopardskin 4REALers down the front. The atmosphere was ace, if very sweaty.
High point - You Love Us, Faster, Everything Must Go, Die In The Summertime
Low point - Let Robeson Sing, Your Love Alone, no-one liking Little Baby Nothing as much I I did.
they are the new new order aren't they? you think they only have a couple of songs you know, then you see setlists and go, wow I know nearly all of this! I haven't got round to hating them post-holy bible yet...
It was ace, and much better than I'd been expecting (although for a £10 ticket off a desperate tout, I'm not going to be complaining am I?). I'm not really used to seeing gigs in venues that size (or with such an enthusiastic crowd) so I thought the atmosphere in there was really charged and powerful. And they looked like they were loving it too; bless JDB and his wobbly moobies.
Also: Mr Wire's legs are WEIRD.
did you get your £10 tout ticket, that was a result!
as much as you. you silly. thought ocean spray was dire :-( and all the new stuff was indeed just an excuse to have a rest. but yeh overall lots of fun and glad i went, just really tired now from travelling back. glad they did DieITS, Tristessa, Sleepflower, Despair and a bit of Condemned!
no, I didn't mean the people I was with, just the crowd in general weren't that bothered about LBN. Maybe they were disappointed Beth Ditto didn't show...
blurgh. my £25 taxi driver from havant to chichester was a bit odd. its like the deep south down here
and then hannah had to get train to london early so had to get up at 7. blurgh!
had a very odd hazy train journey back half asleep listening to ocean songs.
the female bits in Little Baby Nothing? assuming James did it all?
I went to Seafood, and they were fucking BRILLIANT as ever. Huzzah!
I'd love to see it as a duet one day.
