just realised it's 10 years to the day since he died.
He was pretty good.
another bloody album came out yesterday, pretending it has 2 unreleased songs, when its just a live version of I Know It's Over (which you can get on one of his live albums!) and an alternate version of an album track (which you can get on the singles boxset).
a best of seems more acceptable to me than another 'rarities' album.
a best of of a man with one album. or two if you're being silly about it. pah.
It's his mum that keeps releasing this tosh - you'd think she'd take a little more care
he didn't even have that good a relationship with her and now she's the queen of jeff with complete control over everything like the queen bloody mother.
is that she has been fairly considered on the music side of things with Nirvana.
Everything else however...
i heard she's sold the whole back catalogue to be used for adverts because she's used all her own money on drugs.
Ok, make that
make that UP UNTIL THIS POINT she has been fairly considered
He totally ruined my birthday too, the selfish bastard.
not a patch on his papa though, who died even younger than him (as if that matters). But Tim gets virtually no love.
Proof that much music appreciation thrives on potential rather than achievement
I think Jeff is much better.
Cos frankly Tim did a LOT of bad stuff.
Good as well though
but everything i've heard of him is brilliant
all of which are brilliant, Goodbye and Hello being my personal favourite
i've also heard Greetings from L.A. a couple of times, and that seemed pretty damn good too
I'd rather leave behind one perfect album than a truckload of very good ones
but that aside, for me at least, Grace is as close to perfect as it gets.
but when i had a copy i thought it was a very good indie pop album, with superb vocals, which waned significantly in the second half
He was great.
erm "rip" i guess.
the dual biography of Tim and Jeff for all the parallels between their lives/rmusic careers/deaths.
Pretty good book considering just how shit it could have been.
Have been listening to Buckley Snr a bit of late.
What is the title of said biog? I actually need a good new rock biog to read.
It's a pretty good read. Doesn't shy away from revealing some darker stuff about both such as the Heroin use of Jeff....
Doubt I will read it again.

I can't believe it was a decade ago. Wow. I remember being in shock.
and the other albums but I wish his mother would stop realsing 'forgotten works' etc. Kind of spoils things.
i love grace and some of the other releases have good songs on them but it really is overkill, surely there can't be much more left for his mum to squeeze out of his legacy and old demo tapes now.
but if that movie that always gets a mention gets made then i suppose even more rarities will appear.
getting made now after much messing about.
I heard his mother has another set of songs to release as well as a smiths cover. :(
