I mean, basically amazing, we can all agree.
But the album.
Only the one really good song?
fighting over the keyboard.
I wish I wasn't a stupid 15 year old when I met Nick Cave. Such a wasted oppertunity.
but i imagine it was similar to when i mumbled incoherently at Warren Ellis and he looked increasingly pissed off...
I was picking my little brother up from school and he was in the playground. As a stupid 15 year old hardcore kid I was only dimly aware who the Birthday Party / Bad Seeds were, but I went asked for a picture with him anyway.
yeah, I tend to agree with the larger theme of this thread- i.e. Grinderman is good for a laugh for a bit, but there isn't very much there that is gonna last really, is there? I am bored of them now.
that No Pussy Blues performance was the best thing I've seen on Jools Holland.
but live? FUN!
it's unsurprisingly great, but most of it just isn't far enough away from The Bad Seeds stuff to warrant a side project. Quite a few of the tracks are just slightly more sparse Bad Seeds songs, and not overly special ones at that. And certainly not more brutal or powerful. Basically, I wanted more grind.
The first half of the album eclipses the second half by some distance as well
Although the first 2 songs are amazing obviously.
Give the guy a midlife crisis...he's given us so much. (please let him go with some dignity)
as I said
Like he gives a fuck what anyone thinks
or us - his diehards.
wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night. nt him to go
I'd class at least 7 of the 11 songs as really good.
Personally think the album's great
the individual songs are occasionally lacking a 1000% killer touch but the album as a complete piece is a mighty fine piece of rock
issue of SFX mentioned something about Warren Ellis and Grinderman, so I assumed that comic author Warren Ellis was working with Nick Cave.
I've just looked this up on Wikipedia and now feel stupid.
the best thing ever.
it's fucking great. Really atmospheric.
It's the business.
