Both are playing Paris tomorrow night, both were excellent at ATP. Which one should I go and see?
Everyone else will say Battles. But I find them a bit overbearing.
Battles did a better show the week before but I'd always see Shellac first because there's more scope for it be wildly weird and different.
my friend. You're going to Primavera aren't you? You can see Battles there.
tonight instead !
Still undecided about tmw
Shellac - Q and A session with a French audience would be interesting
Battles - Are playing Primavera, but clash with Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation.
Atlas is the single of the year
Shellac nor Battles...
Easy choice for me !
but I've heard they're really good live !
much much better. and battles are very good.
For fuck's sake Shellac!!!!
For one thing they're just so much more FUN than Battles.
I dunno if Bob would be doing his q&a bit between songs in Paris though, and that's half the fun.
because i like them more.
however, if it was me i'd go see shellac because i haven't seen them live yet.
than different Battles gigs, so if you've seen them both before I say Shellac.
but Battles are not shit.
Have ignored popular opinion and gone for Battles. Thanks for all the good advice though
1. I really wanna dance along to Atlas , when I say dance along, I mean shuffle about a bit in an arhythmic (spelling?) and uncoordinated fashion
2. I prefer the venue, the Maroquinerie is at this moment in time my favourite venue in the world. However, Bataclan is also a good venue with excellent sound, I saw Slint there the other night and am seeing Wilco there on Tues
3. Beer at the Maroquinerie is almost half the price of beer at Bataclan, w€5 for a pint of Krony at M as opposed to €4 for a half at B
4. Ticket was slightly cheaper
I hope I made the right decision
stop asking silly questions
atlas is shit. battles bored me at atp.
shellac are fucking incredible.
In what has been the best year for live music, I believe ever, top five show.
Venue was perfect size, about 400 cap, sound was great. I danced myself stupid
Just wish I could have seen Shellac as well
