Alright which of u buttmunchers are going! EH! EH! EH!
Hope its a gooden innit :D
crowdsurfing to tiny cities was one of my highlights of a teepee. that and Do The Cockroach dancefest. and aaaall of the stuff from the new one.
i wish i was but i can't afford it right now. they were ace at ATP though, you should have a great time!
tiny cities and cockroach seems to have survived the set list =D also the fact they appear to be inform live right now (not so hit n miss) is a + :D
with marr they are a positive rock machine.
but i was a bit bored by them at atp and can't afford forking out 20+ quid to see them
a bad man.
the only band i enjoyed on the main stage this weekend was mogwai, and that was probably only because i was right at the front and it was mogwai.
for some bands...Low, nick cave, dirty three, go team. for others its awful: slint, echo and bunnymen, cat power.
but whether thats more about the bands and how good they are i dunno
wilco sounded amazing, and i thought modest mouse were really good. i'd love to have seen sonic youth play in there.
sonic youth played on the centre stage
ill though :( mannn it just wont be the same with the all mighty hillbilly look of judy, he sometimes trumps Isaac in that department
the guy who also played keys / double bass etc filled in on some songs, and for others they had a tech standing in the corner playing.
never gets the spotlight no matter how hard he works =(
looking forward to it..and intrigued by billy childish.
Strange and totally unexpected support act if I have ever seen one if u ask me, could be fun though =)
missing the champs league final innit?
GIG > Football on tv
No brainer for me, my mate bailed out for the champions leauge! Typical so much for accepting my bday present.... ass =)
Good News LP is currently a fiver in Virgin! We Were Dead is only 7... not selling too well I guess.
The entire modest mouse back catalouge has been a fiver for an age now (the LP's)
Not selling too well? Maybe not in the UK but the single hasnt even been released here yet give it time. But in the US it was no.1
lookin forward to the b-side thats been announced =D their b-sides are class (see building something out of nothing) and I've Got It All (most)
that isaac braught up in an interview! w00p okay i'll stop now
I last saw them at Reading in 2004 and they were a bit hmmmmmmmmm bit I know more of their stuff now, so it should be ace!
awful at Reading 2004, and I LIKE them
would have been disappointed if I'd payed £22 for that though. Weird seeing Modest Mouse in such a massive venue, only a couple of years ago when they were not even selling out the Islington Academy. Weird going to a venue like that - it's hardly conducive to an amazing atmosphere.
Good set though - Doin A Cockroach, Trailertrash and Tiny Cities were highlights. Shame they missed out on some proper classics though (Neverending Math, Third Planet, Cowboy Dan). It's weird seeing them with Johnny Marr - before he joined they used to seem like a proper band, now it's just him and Isaac at the front and a few backing musicians. Also, Marr didn't play the high part in the verse of Trailertrash.
Any idea what was going on at the end? It looked like Isaac Brock was wanted to start at someone in the audience or something. Pretty funny.
i have no idea what was going on at the end, looked like that's what was happening but couldn't really see.
did anyone catch the old guy at the back of the standing section giving it large during Dashboard? he had some mad moves...
was fucking amazing. Practically stole the show.
i was transfixed.
he was the man!
didn't watch that stage at all!!
the Royal Albert Hall is always gonna be a bit of a strange venue; it wasn't like when I saw the Cure there and EVERYONE stood up. It seems so polite. But I thought they made a bloody good job of such a grown-up venue. Isaac is so clearly into the music, it's refreshing to watch (I was right next to the stage just above). Yes I think the drummer was Jeremiah - it looked like him anyway. TWO drummers?. I was in heaven just watching the drums. Also, credit to the keyboard guy who also seemed to play bass, cello, maracas and bass in that set. There wasn't a fight - Isaac basically had a bit of a spacky moment and decided to jump on the [insert techy word, big black thing in front of guitars], fell off, rolled over backwards, dropped his guitar, lost his guitar lead, and pissed around for two minutes trying to get it back together. The person you saw was a photographer getting snaps of his episode.
The dancing guy was great! I SO wish I'd been nearer to him :)
Btw, they DID play Cowboy Dan (my favourite). This I know because I had to virtually manhandle a couple of fellas out of the box to stop them bloody talking through it.
I'd see them again in a heartbeat.
about 3/4's of the way through the set.
See if it appears you YouTube? x
I love them so much!
And RAH is such a jaw droppingly beautiful place!
but why, at the end of the last song, did Isaac go back to the guy (the photographer) who he looked to be fighting with? It looked like he wanted to get at him, but was being held back. I dunno? Isaac Brock - such a weird guy.
Johnny Marr - such shit banter. It consisted of going - "hello, hello" or "are you bored yet?" or at his most charismatic, "hope you had a good night." Last night reminded me how much I hate The Smiths.
Well I left straight after the first encore song so I didn't see what happened. When Isaac was having his 'moment' earlier in the night, the photographer was literally in his face, in a really really annoying manner. He was also there through a lot of the set when most had buggered off after 15 minutes, so he probably outstayed his welcome. His camera was almost inches from his face at points. Even I wanted to give him a slap. I read somewhere that Isaac slashed himself across the chest during a live set in March and bled but carried on playing; presumably this fucking annoying photographer was waiting for a similar moment to get a 'scoop' on him.
I thought Marr would have more charisma, but obviously not. 'Are you bored yet?' really made me cringe!
was just absafuckinloutly intesne and isaac went mad during that song rolling cross the floor n stuff just amazing! I loved the set other then Float On, Fire It Up & Dashboard really didnt go to well live.
Who the hell was dancing in the upper circle clearly pilled off his tits and whipping his dick out.... he ruined the show! If ur a member on this site im gonna find u and gut u for whipping ur nasty piece of work out at us
sounds pretty funny though. The crowd last night was fucking terrible generally, sort of what I imagine a Coldplay crowd would be like.
I was sitting on the lowest seating level at the back, directly facing the stage (amazing view).
The tune doesn't seem to come across - AND it goes on for so long. They need to start doing Interstate 8 again.
I felt like the Queen. There were three fellas dancing behind me, all in their mid 30's, halfway thru after several beers one approached me and asked if I'd like to dance, and then attempted to snog me. I later had to nearly manhandle them out because they were chatting away like a bunch of fucking retards. Talkers at gigs. Shoot 'em all.
that the was a 15year old kid crowd surfing, apparenlty the security staff there thought the appropriate way to sort this out would be beat his ribs, isaac saw this n threatend the staff n then tried to attack them.
Thats what the story many people seem to be stinkin with from what i have seen typed and had told to me.
