THE GREATEST BAND ON THE PLANET
in Pizza Hut last night. Seems like a highly friendly, approachable bloke.
I just never EVER want to see the outline of his bollock bag through his tight lycra all-in-one again. Ever.
I must have seen him about 5 times. Annoyingly each time he was wearing the same costume.
and akron/family, the two best of the weekend, probably?
so so so good.
they were great
but their music pretty much sucked! it was the occasional great song interspersed with indulgent one-chord jam!
aren't les savy fav recording an album, i hope to christ it comes out soon
you can contribute vocals to it at www.lessavyfav.com !
Why oh why oh why couldn't they be bothered to play in London on the 18th? This is where somebody says "Oh but they did play in London..." and I go take a bath with a toaster.
Still, I going to see The National tomorrow (barring any water/electrical appliance mishaps) that should make up for it.
the volta one...
at crazy horse. facto!
...the song about living in a mansion in Connecticut, and watching a beautiful lady ride by on a horse, is available as a free download on the Adult Swim website.
with all of them.
you lucky lucky people?
of very old and new... sweat descends, we'll make a lover...who rocks the party, disco drive, a couple from the first record too i think, maybe 3 or 4 new ones
yawn yawn yawn was INCREDIBLE
they packed in quite a lot of songs.
sdkjfhlskdjgfasdg why no warm up gig goddammit!
Obviously I was more drunk than I thought.
i'm sure they did but its all a bit of a blur. as you can see from my new post-fav profile pic.
a 15 min version of a song with the lyric 'we were there when the world got great, and we were the ones that made it that way!', with tons of crowd participation on the vocals, but i'm being thick and cant remember whether thats old or new and BRILLIANT
i seem to remember them playing a song which had the chorus "l e s s a v y f a v les savy fav". did i imagine this?
i would have said that they didn't play disco drive.
okay maybe so.
they did Hold On To Your Genre too
was a cover of Superchunk's "Precision Auto".
Where d'yer start with the recorded stuff?
some copies of inches have a dvd with live vids on it so thats probably your best bet
All the new stuff they played sounded mega good too. Plus 'Raging in the Plague Age' is amazing. New album NOW, please.
I want to see them every day until I die.
back at the ULU in 2002 with Mars Volta and the Apes supporting, the bearded menace was climbing all over the place and taking the disco ball hanging upside down, top show !
My name is exactly the same as the lead singers, minus one letter.
If only the Thermals didn't exist.
as good as the Manics though....
yes, very much. bloc party totally stole the fav's thunder. they did everything on silent alarm about 5 years before, but funnier, better and cleverer.
bloc party aren't fit to walk in lsf's fucking footsteps.
would kele get a haircut on stage before the set. answer = no dice.
LSF's guitarist is just copying Andy Gill?
This could go on and on...
gill and keith levene and lots of others, yeh...but still they were def one of the first bands in the last 10 years to incorporate those postpunk elements really well with a more modern sound methinks.
