Beastie Boys- Go INSTRUMENTAL?

lemonbrickcombo [Edit] [Delete] 10 replies 18:48, 16 May '07

http://beastieboys.com/news/#2

"The Mix-Up is Beastie Boys' first-ever full album of all-new instrumental material. The follow-up to 2004's To The 5 Boroughs, The Mix-Up features Diamond, Horovitz and Yauch back on drums, guitar and bass, with able assistance from Keyboard Money Mark and percussionist Alfredo Ortiz, on 12 brand new wordless, sample-less, scratchless originals."

Is this gonna be good?

There's a track up here:

        • it's like

a compilation of their earlier instrumental stuff, i *think* a french release, but not sure.
it's pretty widely available though, got it yonks ago in HMV for 4.99 =)

  • good one them

for realising that their rapping is actually a bit annoying (possibly), or at least so distinctive that they can't really do much more with it. I for one love their instrumental work, and an album full of the funk pop from Check Your Head, plus Money Mark, with none of the embarrassing rapping of their later albums? Bonzer!
