Hopefully they'll avoid Carnival of Light tracks in favor of Nowhere stuff, eh? Just like Catherine Wheel (tho not nearly as good, IMO) they started off strong and finished rather weak.
denied this story?
are better than Catherine Wheel!
Catherine Wheel's Christmas EP with covers of '30 Century Man', 'Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely' and 'That's When I Reach For My Revolver'? Fukken brilyunt, it were.
I'm not really into reformations but this one is something I can't miss.
somone tell lyle, it might make him happy? lets hope its not all like tarantular (or whatever their last album was called)
I've always hated Ride.
Now if the three remaining members could reform Lush, I would die an happy man !
where does this leave Andy Bell and Oasis?
up to much at the moment though..
with all the up-to-date Oasis news.
to NME.com paying off i see.
I kind of agree with oceanRain though - Catherine Wheel's early output was astoundingly good. They were the 3rd band I sent fanmail to (after Carter USM and Jacob's Mouse - all of them wrote back, and Jimbob sent me a hat - hurrah!).
Ride deny reformation rumours
Management tell NME.COM reunion reports are wrong
Ride have denied reports they are about to reform.
Reports appeared in the press today (May 11) that the shoegazing stalwarts would reunite for Canadian festival NXNE, plus stage UK dates and release a DVD.
However NME.COM has spoken to the group's management who denied Ride are about to reform, saying there was no truth in the stories.
"This point in time would be the least likely for this kind of thing to happen - they're all very busy at the moment with individual commitments and very full schedules," explained the group's manager Dave Newton. "Having said that, if the organisers of NXNW want to get in touch with an offer, I'd have to put it to the boys."
Ride formed in Oxford in 1988 and were signed to Creation, before splitting in 1996.
Bandmember Andy Bell now plays bass in Oasis, Mark Gardener solo material is available from Soniccathedral.co.uk, while drummer Loz Collbert is currently playing drums with the Jesus and Mary Chain.
way to ruin my excitement.
Does anyone have the organiser of NXNW's telephone number?
sorry dude. i got equally excited.
ill talk to dave myself though and find out.
only to be horribly dashed. I thought I'd finally get the chance to see them. Oh well, just give it time...
never mind. hopefully it could be a diversionary tactic?
and still have a manager ?
that's just mean getting my hopes up.
i still say pavement will reform this year (you heard it from me first!)
Their recorded material still holds its own, and the RAH show, the night before I left home to start university, will always be memorable. Undecided. Would love to see them play together again, but it makes me feel bloody old, when bands I loved as a teenager start contemplating reformations
i started posting that uncut link at other forums, then to scroll down the page to find it to be a load of bullcobblers
