its a sloppily written, ill informed blog, but the list is pretty much gold
it's a much better list than I was expecting
But I still hate that list.
Because they called Illinois, Illinoise.
And I hate fuckers who do that.
spelling it like that is good for what ails you.
Not indie !
the point that they're on indie labels?
i know nothing about labels mind, but that seemed to be the gist...
on very music/non music mag in the world.
Bloc Party even had adverts on french TV...
they're still an indie band.
about bloc party's record label?
Smash is still the highest selling Indie album.
Cos Give Up sold maybe 750k
and Smash has sold 12 Million
But Indie rock is a very loose term.
If we are defining it by Independent labels, Then Smash seems to be the winner thus far.
where's you're living all over me by dinosaur jr? where's bee thousand by guided by voices? where's III by sebadoh? where's any one of REM's first five albums?
good list of albums though.
its a shit list from someone who seems to have got into 'indie' in the last 5-10 years...
pretty ridiculous that hes never even heard of slint tho
all hes done for minutemen is google the album cover
well people are tards then
obviously it was in the last 11-12 years, but unlike that list i've done some research and got some historical perspective...
and counted the votes
are you on crack or something?
i didnt realise it was a reader vote, thus i said...
as others have said, 25 best indie rock albums of all time, with no guided by voices, sebadoh, dino jr, husker du, rem, stone roses...
and yet including stuff like postal service AND death cab ... seems a bit silly to me.
research indie rock before voting in an online poll?
they should just have better taste.
are taking this conversation more seriously than me ;-)
it's all out war in the blog game.
not linking to music on other peoples webspaces is the obvious one.
not stealing other people's articles?
no full albums unless they're totally unavailable...
thats about it really.
Belle & Sebastian?
it was a rather good list.
Except I hadn't heard of about 5 bands on it.
