almost certainly one of the most ridiculous things ive ever heard in my life
Which is fairly ridiculous in itself...
...and that's coming from a self-confessed Biffy fanboy.
it just sounds terrible. i don't know who they are anymore
of it. It's minimalist.
its roughly the least minimal and least minimalist song EVER IN THE WORLD
Yes it was sarcasm.
choirs going "bah bah bah"
sweaty nudity and flashy lights in the vidiidio
i want to live on your planet
i take back my praise for it
certainly more odd than the last couple of singles tho
its two paced - the quite ordinary, ok song, then the cool fucked up parts
but this doesn't mean it's crap. it's ace.
i thought it was brilliant
second listen, its ok, quite fun
They never used to sound THIS MUCH like an American alt.rock band
It's boring. And the only bits that make it 'interesting' are the orchestral/choir bits, and they just sound silly. Like they're tacked on rather than fitting in with the rest of the song.
I've not been impressed with any of the new stuff so far. Which is a shame coz I love this band.
in their live set. Does this claim the opening slot song or will Glitter or Trauma hold on to it?
but the intro aint long enough for a full GAT intro thang
they haven't regularly started with G+T for a long time now, semi-mental has been the staple opener for ages but in koln the other day they opened with 57.
i really love this song along with get fucked stud, but the other new tunes are a bit lame
but I saw an advert for it today and burst out laughing, just at the title
cos it was just the mental bits stuck together
it was basically like a comedy film trailer where they tell all the good gags
Fuck sake Biffy.
They're just not surprising anymore. Blackened Sky was one of my first loves, VoB scared the shit out of me with Bodies, and, upon listening to IL for the first time, i thought they'd put the wrong cd in the case.
The new stuff is just SHITE.
the extended version is a lot better, as per usual with biffy singles
how old are you anyway?
What has that got to do with anything?!
just through your general level of bitterness i always assumed you were a lot older than me, but its pretty impossible find biffy fans over the age of 24
makes the crazy bits seem a lot less contrived and tokenistic
Young and fresh.
I AM NOT BITTER.
i am 20 :( :(
as is the rest of the album.
I hope they become as huge as they deserve to be off the back of this album, which is one of my favourites of all time.
I also hope that no miserable "die hard Biffy fans" are at the portsmouth gig next week bemoaning how they've "changed". It's really, really, really, really fucking boring.
let's be friends! :)
that we're able to hear so much of the album before its release. I'm going to avoid this song, and their last one, which I have only heard once.
I love all their previous albums, and listened to them all as a complete piece. I want the same for Puzzle. Mind you, if it leaks on the run-up to release day, I'm not going to be able to stop myself. I just don't want to hear songs out of context!
semi mental, saturday, this
and then the tracks that have been been let out somehow like Get Fucked Stud (which i havent heard yet)
anyway, the full, i guess album version of this is a billion times better than the video/single version.
crap radio rip of it here:
I'm waiting for the release/leak.
And yeah, I heard a radio rip of Semi Mental. One with Zane Lowe practically climaxing to it.
is that the songs are alot more straight forward.
There's less twists and turns... less Biffy chos.
BUT, what the album does have is about a million percent more emotional connection, honesty and truth. All the twists and turns of previous Biffy stuff would get in the way of that.... it's just not needed here for what Simon is trying to express in this album.
I have no idea what "chos" is.
i dont think the twists and turns got in the way of anything
anyway, this live video has made me think that the song is a strong 8.7
love that the new stuff is proving so divisive (is that a word...yes...maybe).
It sounds like Jesus Walks at the start though. They better give propz to Kanye.
I have heard a fair few of the tracks off the album. Who's Got A Match is a lovely no-one knows esque rock anthem and my fave so far. Disappointed they didn't put asexual meat kitchen on the album to be honest, though this song has re-ignited my excitement. Saturday Superhouse bored me rigid.
but superhouse is quite nice, in a less-good-my-recovery-injection way
im having a biffy on youtube field day
but i can't get excited about the new album based on them, i know i'll buy it anyway. (release date anyone?)
favourite track....Now The Action Is On Fire!
