anyone else going?
anyone know stage times?
last night in cardiff they were excellent.
two sets with a break in the middle. first one will start about nine.
play last night too?
I am intrigued by their name but have been unable to hear any of their music.
and they have a myspace with a couple of songs on.
the Cardiff show was amazing yeterday.

look like they were taken by a fascist.
GO TO THIS GIG
the entire set is a joint one playing some AHAAH stuff and some traditional stuff.
on at least two songs neither of the actual AHAAH members played. but it was still good.
it says doors 7.30 so i assume support at 8, then they're on about 8.45/ 9?
i'm intrigue by the 'Ensemble', the website says it has alex nielson on drums and he's one brilliant drummer.
was no drummer last night. just jeremy.
he was drumming with his feet and doing the accordian with his hand!
he had a hat with a drumstick on which he was using to hit a cymbal too.
that hat with the bells on as well?
that's something i miss from when it was just the two of them. he was like a walking percussion machine.
I don't think he's playing on the tour, possibly at Venn though if I read right last night. Saw him drumming for Alasdair Roberts a few weeks back, he is indeed amazing.
I think I'm going. Dammit, I am. Alex Neilson isn't playing though unfortunately...
on other nights? I am looking forward to seeing him almost as much as AHAAH tonight.
I just went to Ticketweb and they're sold out! Damn!
called benjamin. he was a bit boring.
I only caught short bursts of Jack Rose's support slot because of the audience deciding it was a good idea to talk loudly throughout his delicate playing.
What a great way to start a gig with A Hawk and the Ensemble strolling through the centre of the audience with their masks on.
I only knew about half of the songs from but it was a fantastic mixture of tempos and instrumentation. And they looked like they were having so much fun on stage. just disappointed they didnt play 'In The River' which would've completed the night for me.
But did anyone else think the (appalling) air circulation made the venue smell a bit nasty?
not "In The River". Duh.
That is what happens when there is no cigarette smoke. It is what we have to look forward to.
This was one of my favourite ever gigs, both acts were awesome - agree with the ignorant wankers at the back of Jack Rose though. AHAAH almost made my cry with happiness, though I was very drunk.
I've never been to a such a tiny gig where there was a ban on smoking.
I thought it smelt quite unpleasant.
Even when it's not that hot outside. The fans on the walls don't really have any effect.
But what a gig! AHAAH were amazing. And these 4 Hungarian guys! The guy playing the cymbalom seemed possessed. In a good way of course.
