Opinions? I'm not really fussed to be honest.
..but i don't.
odd as i still list them as one of my top 10 bands ever... but this is based upon their early works. Not too fussed with recent albums i must admit
but think there's a lot of people who will be gutted which is a shame for them. how many groups can you think of that have TWO milestones round their neck (i.e. blue monday and world in motion)? bet that had something to do with it, and am sure hooky has enough drinking money for three lifetimes...!
and then fucked off and avoided shitting on so, so many legacies
Before or after True Faith? Anyway, if they did that they wouldn't have recorded Technique.
Used to be my favourite band when I was 15, haven't bought any release of theirs since Republic, until I heard this news I didn't realise they were still 'together'.
no bands should be around that long
(except the rolling stones / aerosmith / bon jovi)
are SHIT LOADS better than any of those three bands EVER were!
Bon Jovi?! Are you fucking kidding me?!
its to do with being OLD
sorry - but i have NOTHING against people doing what they love as long as they can!
unless they are shit - like bon jovi :)
moments of timeless genius bogged down by shedloads of shite and total lack of personality
Two massive splits in as many weeks
First the Coopers, now this? Music industry is dealing out a duff hand at the moment...
it should have happened years ago.
definitely think they were a 'singles' band.
on about a monthly basis? Peter Hook's always been off on other things - he's got his Freebass thing he's been talking up for about three years.
sounds like it's going to be one of the worst things ever in the history of music.
and there is three of them?
oh now we've split
you may think that's really shit
but you know...it's ok
it was always gonna happen any wayhay
the last two albums were pretty shoddy. They are still within my Top 3 bands of all time, and my favourite live act of all time
Blue Monday was played to death in the 80s ..and never lost its cool.
PC&L was a great album. Is a great album.
Plus, having a food fight with the band was a highlight of young oRs life. (pathetic as that is)
the effect that Blue Monday had. It was British electronic music's 'Anarchy In The UK'- once you had heard it, you knew nothing was going to be the same again.
And it cut across all boundaries - even metal fans at the time loved it, because it was so fucking loud.
But yeah, New Order should have split up a long while ago.
But I find it amazing that theyve done tonnes of albums but I can only remember the tune of blue monday.
Age of Consent
Bizarre Love Triangle
with fat and repetition used in abundance - It makes a change from all those skinny fuckers
are they still gonna write that soundtrack for that crap film about Joy Divisiooon?>
