I like Stephen Malkmus. He has a great scream, I'm not even joking. Listen to the end of Unfair and Unseen Power Of The Picket Fence.
Steve Snere from TAAS too. He doesn't scream often, but when he does, Jesus, it's brilliant.
Jacob Bannon's a king too. But Jordan and Johnny from The Blood Brothers are my faves. They're just demented.
I think Caleb Scofield is great too. On Trepanning he is the definition of "gutteral." Keith Buckley and Daryl Palumbo are also awesome lyricists too (especially Keith) which makes their delivery even better.
And Maynard James Keenan deserves a mention just for THAT bit in The Grudge.
pretty much wins it for me. Just for the range and dementedness of his voice.
Though a special mention for Drew Speziale of Circle Takes the Square half way through 'In the Nervous Light of Sunday' for the most alarming full on scream ever. Like a boot stamping on a dog's leg, forever.
and after Saturday's performance by the Neubs, I'd have to add Blixa Bargeld. There were a couple of high-pitched screams that I initially thought were the sound of someone taking an angle-grinder to a steel filing cabinet.
I was going to say Tony Yeboah.
I'm not sure who Alan Dublin is.
Oh, this is the music board.
Makes more sense.

Best scream = Half a Canyon.
Also - Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw fame.
He has a pretty crazy scream, albeit slightly more contained on 'Worship and Tribute'.
The vocalists in
Khanate,
Will Haven,
Cult of Luna.
The best scream EVER is by Julie Doiron on Blinded by Eric's Trip
nothing comes close in my opinion.
I played it in a dj set once and three full on metallers came up to ask what it was.
Sam Carter from Architects
Jacob Bannon
without question. I love Simon Neil and Mikael Akerfeldt's too.
grady from will haven
best scream in a song = angel of death by slayer
bf
Gerry Roslie
Thurston Moore does a good one
it's more of a yelp.
Kim Gordon's is brutal.
Question:
You know how the 2nd verse of ToDs Relative Ways gets screamy? Well, that's not my question.
Is it Kevin (the dude no longer with) that sings that?
I thought
it was Conrad.
Keith Buckley
Jordon Daniel
Kyle Bishop
Jeff Moreira
And Chino Moreno has awesome abilities at both end of the scale.
I <3 screams

Ahh Trepanning.
His screaming on that is incredible.
"WE'RE GOING OVER THE CLIFF TOGETHER!"
Damn right!
Stephen Brodsky's a better screamer though
Caleb sounds like he's shredding his throat / Stephen actually was

Bloke from
Buried Inside. Sounds like he's getting an electric shock everytime he opens his mouth.

I like the vocal effect on the first Minus album (before they went cock-rock), I liked the way distortion was used. Also, as already mentioned:
Jacob Bannon (Converge)
Grady Avenell (Will Haven)
Sean Ingram (Coalesce)
Chris Taylor (Pg.99)
Desperado singer..
Thomas Ryjord, blessed with a Refused esque kind of thing
