Patrick Wolf: Does he kinda overestimate his fame?
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/42602-exclusive-patrick-wolf-expl
I know I'm not exactly qualified to criticise him on stuff that I have no experience in whatsoever. And for all I know he could be just as hounded and as pressured as he is making out
But some of the stuff he comes out with on a regular basis kinda makes me think that he thinks he's got this huge profile and has to maintain a public perception of him. Surely the general public wouldn't have a clue who he is?
Basically.
He seems to live in a bubble and lack quite a lot of perspective.
yes
although being said, his hardcore fans do seem a bit.. uhm.. well.. mental.
though I imagine
If you are part of a major label publicity drive, and spend all your day talking about yourself to journalists, it must be quite difficult to get any sense of perspective.
He has popped up everywhere though
over the last few months, so I would imagine he isn't making up the stuff about the 'treadmill'.
Besides, a messageboard is the last place to get any kind of sane statement from anyone, as evidenced by half the guff on this board. Take me for instance: I'm deeply ashamed of every single post I've ever written here, including this one.
True
But surely he knows that anything vaguely controversial that he, Patrick Wolf, says on a Patrick Wolf messageboard will make its way elsewhere?
For a supposedly intelligent man that seems ridiculously naive
TBH
he seems hopelessly naive about lots of things and a 'bit' of a twat.
Hugely talented though.
He does sound rather naive on a lot of issues
I thought it was part of his cultivated persona, but now I'm not so sure.
Either way, I don't think any of this is really a big deal - he's obviously just a bit tired and said something hasty - he's now corrected it. Not much of a story really.
