Bands who list their equipment
Are almost always universally poojab
"alastair:
Jackson Randy Rhodes
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Head"
That kinda thing.
If youy do this, Your band is probably well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well shit yeh.
If you didn't have "RivalSchools"
as a username, I'd think you're a complete tool.
He's right though
Every piece of equipment listed brings the quality of a band down 10 points. Which is why seeing John Frusciante's rig recently confirmed their -500 rating on the universal shittiness scale
Isn't this a promotional thing?
Like, they get the stuff for free if they mention that they used it. I'd whore myself out like this gladly.
Any band worth it's salt steals
their instruments from a special needs school music programme.
See: Coldplay

sonic youth are the exception to every rule
in these odd threads ;)
I actually really like it when bands list equipment
like the inside cover of Beaches and Canyons by Black Dice listing everything. Guitars and drums are slightly pointless but when it's synths, pedals and instruments you haven't heard of I think it's pretty useful.
Writing of equipment lists, the one on Bob Drake's page has to be the best on the planet:

i agree
i like to know if its something interesting, and if there's a vast amount of obscure/homemade stuff, but when a band uses the same setup for every song and basically wanna tell you that they have an expensive guitar going through an expensive amp, they just come across as wankers.
my band generally have a pretty weird setup, but i resist telling people what we use/do, so they don't steal my ideas! + mystery is good thing. i like the confused looks on peoples faces when we play live.
