i the distinct lack of queue for club nme last night.
their sold out brixton academy show.
as i remember, totally up themselves.
would a teenager know about the Boretones as people? The singer was a dreadful cock!
maybe he's met them, you fucking arrogant prick.
Now musical tastes are down to the individual, but I've got to take issue on that! Have only met Mark but he's a lovely guy.
in a couple of years now...
Then they'll try to reform in 2014.
I agree with you on much of your music taste, Ms Nunn. But I still love The Bluetones very much. Just because a band that came to prominence in the 90s doesn't always draw the crowds it once did, that doesn't mean they've got no right to exist now, does it? ;)
have nothing to do with the bluetones.
you argue like sean.
I'm going through their back catalogue at the moment cos the last album was pop gold.
Shed Seven were much worse.
came over like a weedy, non-thinking mans Stone Roses. The Roses were shit too!
Don't attack The Bluetones. Ok, so the world wouldn't turn upside down if they called it a day, but their early stuff is great!
...and I'm glad that some don't think that a downturn in audience sizes mean they must quit. If it's two men and a dog, fair enough, but they still pull a respectable-sized crowd every time I see them.
For anyone who's wanting them to get on their bike, you'll be delighted to know that their deal with Cooking Vinyl was for two records. So at least one more is being made - they're doing it this autumn. Yay for The Bluetones.
Thats what I like to hear.
As far as I remember they made insipid, pointless noises which sounded like the product of a focus group entitled "Modern guitar music: the lowest common denominator". Plus their ideological outlook seemed to be roughly inline with that of the Daily Mail.
Which begs the question: how the fuck do people swallow this tedious, cynical shit?
(I'm sure slipknot had something similar on a tshirt..)
Oh, this isn't that misquoted "Britishness" stuff that came out around the third album is it? That got cleared up a long time ago.
they are the band I have seen the most. I interviewed Mark for my uni radio show, he was lovely. They are such a feel-good band and the soundtrack to many of my teenage years.
"go and and watch them"
and they're not really getting much in the way of airplay or publicity (which they aren't) then what's the problem?
The Bluetones seem an incredibly easy band to ignore. You could just pretend to yourself they've fucked off and that'd probably solve the problem.
i was under the impression we could slag off bands once in a while on this board.
I think you've misread my tone.
I just find it amusing how the band that I've not even noticed still exisiting for the past decade can annoy someone so much!
in the Dublin Castle, he's only little.
They are quite boring tho. I once fell asleep with the album on repeat, I've never listened to it since. If I ever hear it again, I might stab someone.
I enjoyed myself. They played most of the songs I wanted to hear. Took me back to my teenage years. KOKO was full of other people were enjoying it. In that sense, why should they fuck off?
If you paid over £15 to go and see a band that you want to fuck off then off YOU should fuck.
no, i paid £6 to see some bands across the road.
anyway, carry on.
i was in a bad mood when i started it. let it die pls.
but he is a cunt.
