well i never
(bbc one, probably in about half an hour)
cos I do like that song....
that was a revelation, have only heard the single on the radio and thought it was some just jack type whiteboy rappa, how wrong was I,what a cool performance,am now hooked.
Why didnt they record the single more like that????whats the album like
I really don't like him, at all.
didn't DiS given his album 9 or 10?
quite scratchy demo-esque songs and more polished stuff like Sheila. Chances are, if you don't like that recording, you won't like the album.
I think it's worth some effort though, lyrically really good.
I spose if you liked that style your best bet's catching him live. He does the odd acoustic show, which I think are just brilliant.
I will listen to it now thru diffrent ears,I always quite liked the radio version but i just had this idea of what he would look like (chavvy eminem lookalike) plus the name Jamie T put me off, sounds stupid i know but will give the album a go now ive seen what they have to offer live.
one of the best chat-show tv performances i've seen.
i tuned in half-way through and i thought he was dreadful.
and i LOVED that first ep. L-O-V-E-D.
until it was barely audible over the sound of me masturbating over Kirsten Dunst's arms.
Or was that you?
But yeah, that was me.
A male Lily Allen
seems to like him. http://tinyurl.com/ynvlze
seem to love him, 10/10 remember
....why journalists use 'middle-class' as a slur.
What the fuck has class got to do with how your music sounds?
what he said
i wanted to punch the tv
computers and brain scientists could not conjure a more annoying voice
reminded me of the arctic monkeys school of charmless oik rock, i'd quite liked the other stuff i'd heard by him
i only like jamie t in small doses, but there's an eloquence and imagination about what he does that i think is woefully lacking in the likes of the arctic monkeys.
i take it he had a band on the jonathan woss show? i've only seen him perform with a full band once, a year ago, and i'd like to see it again. all the other times i've seen him, it's pretty much just been him and his guitar - and while it impressed me at first [first saw him at Songs in the Dark and it worked really well with the very intimate, informal atmosphere of those nights] after a couple of times it got monotonous [and i got a little sick of his voice]. i was startled by how much the songs came to life again when he played with a band.
i used to listen to him play acoustic and imagine this awesome fucked up soundscape around him.
his guitarist is wack.
as a young kid having the balls to do what he does....
Anyone who doesn't respect him should try singing with just an acoustic bass at a grotty South London songwriters night and see how he's compares to you...
how Jamie could be anything but the artist of the year. I adore him.
I like shiela now. I dunno if its a new version or something than the one I heard ages ago.
I think its just because of the screaming sounds effects and that bit that goes "BLEH!"
was fantastic. can't wait to see him again.
