What are everyones opinions of hardcore (inc. metalcore, grindcore, all the variants of extreme music) in 2007?

I mean, about 7 years ago when I was a fresh faced teen the only thing I cared about was the next Converge album and when Pig Destroyer would tour England.

Since then I have slowly stopped listening to it all, I mean, I went back to Converge, Botch, DEP (not that last one, that was shitty) Deadguy, etc and I still love it all, but I really can't find any new hardcore bands.

I am definitely down with Gallows and November Coming Fire, they are both shit hot.

But hardcore as a whole, has it changed or have I changed? Maybe I'm less angry, maybe I grew up.

This post is too long, share yr similar stories and we'll bask in the clear light of nostalgia.
