newsnight discussion thing. whereas the other one is the culture show which is on at 7 on bbc2 with mark throwback and lauren kenicke and has already had the af
"Arcade Fire: The Culture Show Session
Fri 20 Apr, 11:35 pm - 12:05 am 30mins
Lauren Laverne meets two members of Arcade Fire, Win Butler and his brother Will. This special programme includes exclusive acoustic performances."
they had them on a few weeks ago, i suppose they're making the most of it by having a special extended session.
the poor English still have music on television. We're passed all that in the US. Oh, sure, we've still got 3 or 4 MTV but they don't play music anymore. They've got reality shows from Laguna Beach, to save me the 15 minute ride down Pacific Coast Hwy.
Go ahead and enjoy Arcade Fire. I've got a choice of 153 reality shows. I think we've got one which follows around rappers molesting 14 year old girls in fact.
in on youtube. infact, some of it i think has been ripped directly from youtube. i hope the bbc got permission!
version of 'Wake Up' in the foyer. And outside the church (?) ... i watched them the other night infact.
she is such a cunt, she's crap at interviewing, offers no insights of her own and is thoroughly inarticulate, what a crap choice of presenter for the 'culture' show.
she had her rat out and her legs wide open
That blue hoody was fucking horrible
normal and unpretentious they were. particularly Will, he was just like an excitable youngster. lovely.
were the hideous journalists the ones featured on newsnight review that time? i unfortunately missed that.
didn't she say in the interview something like 'the album feels like something building towards are er er erm sense of something-ness...', or summat like that.
i dunno, i just feel someone more cultured should present the culture show, i don't feel she knows what she is talking about. i want to feel safe with a presenter, like Jonathan Ross on Film 2007. he has authority and charisma. she's just shit.
why don't they get some DiS talking heads, they might actually know a thing or two.
i hated the Guardian guy the least because he made some valid points on newsnight review previously.
What's that got to do with anything?
is brilliant. Friday night with JR is usually great but the guest have been a bit shit and unimportant recently...
Just asks stupid questions.
And Paul Morley et al can fuck off - he was talking about the new Arctic Monkeys album on Newsnight earlier as if it had some deep philosophical meaning.
Well I'm guessing the culture show's target audience is one that just watches culture from the sidelines. I.E one that wants it fed on a plate without the want to form an opinion for themselves.
Maybe I'm wrong, but you get that impression from the patronising journalists 'telling it like it is'
who want to be down with the kids.
Can't stomach watching her myself.
better than the original. just.
I hated that girl whod seen them 8 times - let someone else havvago love. And i also hated the bloke from the guardian that said that the 90's were a time of innocence where music didnt pick up on the political world...which would really explain radiohead, godspeed and rage against the machine wouldnt it? Cunt.
he also rubbished broken social scene on newsnight review beforehand. Ehich added to my anger.
as far as i can remember.
the moment the camera wasnt on him.
