Whiskeytown is supposed to be really good but all the Ryan Adams I have is that shit Rock 'n Roll album...so I've been leary of wasting hard earned green on Ryan. The latest(?) Bright Eyes is sorta alt country...and very good.

(I'm tempted to say Patrick Wolf's WitW falls into this category, except that more precisely I'd say it's alt-Renaissance...but good, not like that horrible Jah Wobble English Roots.)
