Me - the Cult 'She Sells Sanctuary'. The rest of ther ouvre is dirty diapers.
All of Love is fairly outstanding. Dreamtime is fairly ok. Everything the Cult did afterward stunk. Electric was arena rock garbage and they got worse from there, but on Love things really came together. (A lot like Van Halen's debut album was great and they never wrote a decent song after that.)
Best I can do at the moment: Never heard any other Remy Zero except for the Villa Elaine I have. Track 2 is killer and the rest of the album sucks.
surely you've heard the theme song to Smallville, no?
It's as much Ian Astbury's choice of headband that spoiled them for me. I'm a petty man.
wanted to be Axl Rose in those days, ahem, apparently. *shrugs*
thats what I said, now!
Princes, princes who adore you...
including Home Belly Groove the live album. What about Little Miss Can't be Wrong and Jimmy Olsen Blues?
I have that somewhere too.
They had about four good songs and some excellent inoffensive funk jamming.
Somebody to shove, good song
The Soul Asylum thread. Even their bassist hated all their songs except this one
at a karaoke night once and I said to him "I didn't realise you were a Bon Jovi fan" *blush*
I wanna be Adored = great! the rest of their ouvere = shite!
only New Found Glory song i can listen to. it's fantastic though.
Nothing Gold Can Stay. Best punk-pop album ever, trust.
Miserable? My Own Worst Enemy?

there's an acoustic version of "livin on a prayer" which strips all the cockrock of the original out, and doesn't have any bloody wow-wow-wow noises in, it's actually quite good. so there we go...
mythical Bon Jovi track? I'm intrigued - I would have thought if you took the cockrock and wow-wow-wow out all you'd be left with was tape hiss.
Once in a lifetime = tune.
Everything else= pretentious, up-its-own-arse art-rock.
but but but the first half of it is just music to dance your arse off to. It's white boy funk done really bloody well. I'm slightly shocked now. Also - see Fear of Music - a better record in my opinion.
because And She Says, Road to Nowhere, Crosseyed and Painless, Heaven, (Nothing But) Flowers, Psycho Killer, Warning Sign and Houses in Motion are such in-penetrable, pretentious difficult arty, alienating pieces aren't they?
Talking Heads have tune after tune!
Panic Attack vs everything else I've heard.
Seahorses. Blinded by the Sun vs the rest.
The Black Amnesias from Hope of the States first album - it's a gorgeous instrumental piece. I hated every other song on the album. Didn't bother with the second.
Razorlight, but for some reason I love the song 'Golden Touch', but everything else from them is rubbish.
'Sugar Salt Sweat'
its all comming clean out for me
The Felling - Fill My Little World.... & maybe Helicopter.... o sorry XD sorrry, the test of their stuff though.... bleh!
I fill like i commited some sort of evil sin
and I am not pleased about that
And the Amerie song someone's mentioned down there.
And Shot Shot by Gomez.
And probably billions more.
= Bleed American.
Wrong though, Sweetness is their best tune.
a praise chorus is bester
oh the shame
Buried Alive By Love
Nobody Move, Nobody Gets Hurt
I need to start reading threads.
They're repulsive. Full stop.
Erm, this is a guilty pleasure really. Keep hearing it in shops, cinema lobbies and the like and have to confess to really liking it. I think i've heard another one of hers and needless to say, it was shite. I pretty much imagine that this would be true of the rest of her material. Still, good song that though.
Standard commercial R&B wank
Your opinion is meaningless.
is still way more whiteboy than liking The Libertines
is amazing. It samples Tom Ze!
The Killers - When You Were Young
Honest Mistake is a corker. The rest is awful.
even if She Sells Sanctuary is s'posed to be their classic.
Those Chrissie Hynde backing vocals are kind of fun to sing in the car when you're alone.
I still had a Walkman back then
blur? really? they got more somgs than a song convention
Bit ashamed to admit it, but i like it
hate everything else about them right down to their names
of all the Muse tunes, you choose Startlight.
pure pop perfection.
It's only Muse fans who can't see that.
I do like pop, and Starlight is still boring. Nice tune but it does wear off something awful.
I'm not a Muse fan any more. :P
considering the wealth of quality in the muse early years
Hate the hysteria that seems to permeate all of their songs. I do however really like Supermassive Black Hole...
I think I'm the only person in the world who thinks the Muse reached their peak with Black Holes & Revelation. The one before was pretty good, but before that it was a few good songs with a lot of filler. After BH&R, of course, it was all excrement.
.. they just decided they could not give a shit at that stage already. Just a parody of themselves.
It's overblown without the soul.
if they were without the soul.
so you like listening to mindless shit?:D
I'm not insulting you btw, just trying to be funny. So the :D.
I think there is fake soul, and yes, I don't like that either. My fake 'o metre can spot it miles away.
But when a band starts to churn out songs they don't mean, that's not good either.
I'm deadly serious too:
it's strange finding someone who likes music so much but is not touched by the deeper feelings it can arouse.
An artist will put in a lot of their soul into their music and sometimes you can feel that. It does come across.
.. but if you're not interested. :D
