its true! i kind of fancy going actually.
was genuinely really interesting, and twould be a fun trip back to my teenage grungeland (no matter how bad that grunge was, damn me!)
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS
Shepherd's Bush a few years ago. They were a bit disappointing, but I did meet Natalie Umbruglia so it was all worth it!
I have a residual love for silverchair (note affected lower case 's') that cannot be killed even by their recent appalling album. Check out the new video on YouTube - looks and sounds like a Justin Timberlake video, complete with lanky dance moves.
i think silverchair was the first proper 'rock' gig i went to. used to be quite a fan-girl - oh to be 15 again...
swooning over Daniel Johns. God how I hated him....even my girlfriend at the time would enjoy telling me how she would leave me in a second if he asked her.....Grrrrrrr
actually, I think he's skinny and weird looking.
To be honest, he looked pretty much like me at the time. Except I wasn't in silverchair.
Which these days probably makes me more attractive.
something like that! although that was the frogstomp period so he wasn't as, er, skinny & weird looking then.
new album is a cracker.
If You Keep Losing Sleep is ace
I did like Diorama though. Across The Night is pompous and wonderful.
I want to go.
they pretty much ignore the early stuff nowadays, its a shame though haha i saw um a few times in the mid- late 90's and they were good, i went to check them out a year or two ago at the ritz in manchester and they were terrible, totally different band
And yes, I have listened to them in the past 2 months. I wish i'd seen Silverchair live :(
they were great at Reading 1999
I opted for them over Arab Strap who were on at the same time and it was the right choice (only because I saw Arab Strap again but never did Silverchair).
As if it was 11 years ago.
Mostly played songs they've been working on, with only half the songs been pre-Young Modern. Then Daniel Johns pranced around referring to the crowd as "sexy man bitches" or something of the sort, before breaking a nail (seriously) and pretending to cry. It was not what i expected or ever want to witness again.
