65daysofstatic and youthmovies more
what an amazing weekend (including today)
Such a great gig!
sorry i didn't get to chat to you. I tried to look for you at the end, but there were too many people :(
the new youthmovies stuff is so, so good though.
it was so hot in there I just headed out straight after.
i don't like taking pictures downstairs when the zodiac's packed :(
are you coming to foals tomorrow?
I think possibly even better than MMISL.
And admit it, Youthmovies were good.
this time...I think the sound was a bit better. I admit it, they are good. :)
worth me coming back to London to see?
I have this nagging feeling I should've gone to see foals instead of deftones. But then again, I'll wake up tomorrow and realise how good they really were.
the whole atmosphere was ace, the new stuff, which I hadn't heard much of was very decent and they had a great great repartee with the crowd.
I think I might go back. Especially as Rolo Tomassi are supporting. And Josh Pearson.
then you'd love the new songs. they haven't changed much. there were a couple that were a lot more samply/electronicy but there were still the noodling pianos, and building up to the loud bits like their old songs.
'allisfulloflove' doesn't like it anymore.
He reprimanded me for doing it t'other day.
It was sexy.
it's amazing and wonderful to hear such nice words!
i just picked on you because you changed my thread about wasps to WASPS AND WASPS AND WASPS and then tried to coax us into booking a show in BLOODY SCOTLAND!!
You're a very hard individual to please.
....come on, man - you guys have GOT to do a Scottish show some time soon (not Glasgow). It's a great place (the rest of Scotland, not Glasgow)!
...there's more places to gig than London, don'tchaknow! ;-)
sounded like the theme music to rainbow
i didn't get to see more of their set, i enjoyed them better than last time when i was too knackered to really care what they were up to.
youthmovies were better than previous occasions but still don't really grab me. i really should love them as they tick the right boxes but I just find them rather boring as they seem to lose direction halfway through their songs. I actually prefer them on cd than live but this may be due to who they play with always completely overshadowing them.
65dos were brilliant though, the new stuff sounds rather fantastic and they blew youthmovies off the stage imo.
the singers voice pained me.
youthmovies however, i loved. i though they were fucking brilliant. and i liked the way their songs seemed to change direction and were slightly haphazard. AND after listening to the cd, thought it sounded flat on cd - and they're much better and fuller live!
65dos, awesome. yes.
at the 93 feet east gig last week and the singer seemed to have trouble then aswell. apart from that though theyre an awesomeley tight powerful dynamic band. the split album with this town needs guns is going to be special. :) i think this town needs guns are my favourite new band in the country right now, the new single and b side is fabulous.
problems that gig. Mainly trying to get over a cold and then the sound guy faffing about with my monitor. I thought i was alright last night though :( shows what i know.
great night - nice seeing people etc, catsx3 = very good
youthmovies = even better (and better than at rota too phil!)
65dos = FUCKING IMMENSE. ooooh it was good.
all round = :D
(i actually don't think i have grinned like a lunatic so much through a show before!)
Jesus. I have decided that Youthmovies were the best band I've seenall year.
the sound was better, and it just seemed to click a bit more for me.
they didn't play any old ones though (except TNGIAM, which is kind of old now i guess) but all the new stuff was great!
they were good last week.
