les savy fav
the apples in stereo
it could be the basis for my pre-atp shoping list
2)The Body The Blood The Machine
3)One Time For All Time
But you need More Parts Per Million and The Body, The Blood, The Machine by The Thermals.
Yes, both of them.
sell it to me bammy! Is it better or worse or the same as the new(er) one?
two minute pop songs with the needles in the red, no-fi production values, the new album minus any flab whatsoever. BUY!
And quite rightly, I think.
More Parts is fucking brilliant. So raw, and lo-fi, and primal and DIRTY. His voice is properly amazing on that album, it really is. It's different to the new album in that, basically, it sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom somewhere, and with one less instrument.
I've decided that The Body, The Blood...incidentally, is my only 10/10 album of last year.
is a distant third. it's the best title, though. 'remember today' is the best thing on it - the best guided by voices song they never recorded.
i can't wait to see them at ATP.
(the gig, not in general) - but if they're doing dot to dot i might have to go there too. post-ATP, pre-Primavera fun? yep.
are only doing the nottingham dot to dot
at the Bristol Academy though. Also, Fuckin A is good. Fuck you all.
and then it kinda dips a bit. Oh well.
I am beyond excited about seeing them at ATP. Apparently they're playing a gig on their own in Brighton and Newport the week after, in between dates with The Cribs. Allegedly.
If they are, I'm so going to Brighton.
but I am inclined to agree-it's insanely catchy. Though Tv on the radio still have my vote in last year's album stakes. Brilliant. Is Fuckin' A not worth it? shame.
Is worth dipping in to, but I never find myself putting it on that much, to be honest. Which is a shame. It's not a bad album, it's just not *as* good.
still better than a lot of bands' best albums.
2. more parts per million
3. one time for all time
4. sound effects 1992-2000*
*tough one. they'll probably do a lot of the new album being as it's a new line-up. sound effects... is a good primer though. discovery of a world inside the moone is maybe the most complete 'proper' album.
i just sent you that as a PM. i should really maximise this screen, but i'm at work. mistakes will be made.
Can't help with the others, but I'd be inclined to trust Bamos about the thermals.
is everyone saying get 'Inches'? That album sucks. Get '3/5', 'The Cat and the Cobra' or 'Go Forth'.
but Inches "sucks"? come off it.
The first album I got was Go Forth, and I thought it was so amazing that I went out and bought the first 2. If I'd heard Inches first, I doubt I would of bothered to hear what else they'd done
fun trick noisemaker, or the new one which i think is called new magnetic wonders for the apples in stereo, theyre the two most listenable ones.
the rest of them are kind of a bit excessively twee and boring, the apples in stereo albums arent generally that great.
save your money (but NOT fall of math)
and get The Fall of Math
I love that album so much.
You won't like them.
constructive and pleasant attitude you have
wasn't constructive or pleasant about that? i was saving you time.
