most underrated pop band of the 90s amongst indie fans? i think so.
and I would say they still had it in the 00s as well. I remember hearing "I Need Some Fine Wine And You, You Need To Be Nice" on the radio and thinking it was really really good
really good single
i was going to get rid of it, should i?
but still v good. my favourite game is da bomb.
their early stuff is ace, like a more edgy Sundays with black sabbath covers.
The rest just meandered along doing nothing for me.
I liked Sick & Tired though. That was fun.
Carnival was good too.
best song on their
on the new Blonde Redhead album reminded me of the Cardigans. I thought I should dig out my old Cardigans CDs. Now I will...
...and excellent live too.
And Long Gone Before Daylight is a highly underrated album of the underrated band.
Hope they do something again soon.
A lot of bands have borrowed from them over recent times, and The Cardigans deserve the credit. You have The Concretes, Sky Larkin amongst others... I think The Cardigans have this thing attached to them and its an uncool one: The band who had that Lovefool song used in that Romeo and Juliet movie... thats it. But everything that came after that was superb and massively, like you say, underrated. Gran Turismo is one of my all time favourites.
